A horrible knight from a few years before the Lone Menace who learned how to harness fear, Knightmare is Bayani's right hand and caused the war between Kontrabida and Bata... and force Kontrabida to kill his sister...
Once he used to be the runt of soldiers-in-training, and when he was bullied he didn't want to be stronger or respected. He wanted to be feared. He demanded this of the Court Mage, who gave him these powers, and the more he got used to them the more he entered the world of fear, even becoming patronized by Fearful. He desires nothing but to see people cower before him.

???: (slow stands up; spreads his arms to unveil a terrifying, gray, winged skull insignia on his chest and the initials "DB" on his belt buckle; in a harsh, rasping whisper) I am...Deathbat...the harbringer of the dark; the villain of the Vanquishers. (puts his hands back to his sides; examines Knightmare closely) Hmm... I see that you are the figure of fear, clad in the armor of darkness. I would be glad taking that.

Knightmare: Close enough. However, this armor is nothing but a cosmetically changed version of your normal plate armor. I do not see what use it is to you unless you wish for a wardrobe change.

Deathbat: You're thinking something else, sir... My body suit is ACTUALLY a skin-tight suit made withΒ Kevlar thread and carbon nanotube fibers. In case you're wondering, my fellow comrade, Black Metal, DOES have a suit like yours, except for her 'stag-beetle' appearance and her razor sharp horn-blades.
???: (suddenly, an black, barbed 'Boomerang Kuwanger'-like [a maverick from Mega Man X] armored figure with red eyes and a red unibeam takes landing; and walks closer to Deathbat; in a deep, robotic voice) Are you talking of me, Deathbat?
DB: (notices that by surprise) Eh, yes. Black Metal. I was talking to another man.

Knightmare: So, what is this? League of Nightmares or something?

DB: Sort of, Knightmare. but, as a matter of fact, Black and I are the members of the militant criminal front, the Red Dragon Legion, lead by our master, Dire, the Dragon Lord.

Knightmare: (taps his chin) Intriguing...

Black Metal: (crosses her arms) Our mission is pretty much likeΒ bringing a new set of order and sometimes to spread fear across the world.
Deathbat: No matter how tried, the Vanquishers and their vigilante and the Minervan allies managed to foil almost each of our schemes. So, we fought them many times, and still keep fighting today to keep up with Dire's agenda.
Black Metal:Β (pauses while studying Knightmare) Hmm... I looks like you may be good candidate of joining us a as part-time member, since you have some fear-based skills. Together now and the future, we'll build a new world order, and we the RDL, will rule under the watchful eyes of Dire.Β

Knightmare: Hm... I may be a leader right now, but I served for a king once... count me in. (draws his sword from the ground)

Black Metal: You may, but you will prove your worth by putting our fighting (unsheathes her short claws from both of her already barbed gauntlets; crosses her blades in front of her while making her "Wolverine"-like battle stance)...to a test.
Deathbat: (takes out two of his bone nunchucks and whirls them while making his battle stance)

Knightmare: Fair enough. (spins his blade in one hand and, in the other, something dark resonates from his palm)

Black Metal: (flaps her small wings and hovers a foot above the ground; begins to rocket towards Knightmare and swipes her claw towards Knightmare)
Deathbat: (meanwhile; charges towards KM and somersaults thru the air over him; from behind, swings one his nunchucks toward KM's head)

Knightmare: (slices off Black Metal's claw with his blade and grabs Deathbat's nunchuks before slicing at Black Metal and hitting Deathbat with his own nunchuks)

*KLANG!* Both of first blade attacks from BM and KM deflect each other.
Deathbat: (meanwhile, dodges KM's incoming attack) Nice move.Β
Black Metal: (parries KM's second blade attack with her other claw)
Deathbat: (makes his low, sweeping kick, tripping KM to the ground)
Black Metal: (flies up higher and backward a bit; sheaths her claws; shoots a burst of rapid-fire red energy blasts from her gauntlets, mowing him down)

Knightmare: One of the scariest things to people...
(as the one on the ground speaks, another Knightmare leaps above Black Metal with his sword drawn)
Knightmare 2: ...is when they make mistakes. (slices Black Metal and knocks her to the ground before slamming into her)
Knightmare: (gets up and waves his fear-imbued hand)

Black Metal: Heh. Not scary enough. (immediately while down; activates her deflector shield in which a dome of red, 'honey-comb' patterned barrier surrounding her has just bounced KM2's incoming blow; pushing him back; she immediately gets up, unsheathes her claws and flies up in the air once again)
Deathbat: (remained unafraid after watching him making that move) Scary enough? Get real. We, the humans, make mistakes, and we learn from them. Simple. (makes a quick hand rolls with his nunchucks) Among the scariest to people is for them to suffer an everlasting, terrible pain! Haven't you witnessed it? (charges to KM, makes a flurry of strikes with his nunchucks into him, denting his helmet and then his armor and then hit some parts of his body, and another blow which knocks him back) Hmm... Seems like those nunchucks aren't strong enough to break your armor... (puts away his nunchucks) I'll take another approach. (dashes forward, makes a sweeping low kick once gain to trip KM, immediately makes a backflip kick, striking him in the chest and sends him up in the air; then drop-kicks him, sending him flying across the alley, crashing him against the wall)

Knightmare: Mind you, I did say 'one' of them. (spews smoke from his mouth before slicing at both Black Metal and Deathbat with precise, quick, and strong strikes)

Deathbat: (seems to counter most of KM's blade attacks with his metal-reinforced gauntlets, but the thick smokescreen makes it harder for him to see thru and wounds up getting slashed in the arm; cutting thru his kevlar/nano-C fiber suit, hurting him a bit) *Oouch!*Β
Black Metal: (meanwhile under her helmet, shifts to X-ray vision to try to enable to see thru the smoke and then has spotted KM; then thru her lightning quick reflexes in spite her heavily armored appearance, parries each of his blows, and then lunges her body forward to make a 'guard impact' counter which stumbles him back a bit) Intgriuing move, Knightmare. I got over thru the smokescreen in many of my previous battles. Guess what I'm going to do next? (she then grabs his shoulders and digs her huge, 'stag beetle'-like horn blades from her helmet thru his torso, digging thru his armor Β and then makes a 'dead lift' move in which she whips her head back, send him flying up high in the air and then falls back to the ground hard)

Knightmare: (watches his chest spew more smoke as he becomes a bladed tornado)

Black Metal: (watches a bladed tornado in awe) Well look at that. That's almost the same technique that Airman had shown when he fought with the Red Dragon men on the way to the liar. (sheathes her claws, and rushes towards the wounded Deathbat and carries him in her arms; activates the deflector shield surrounding herself and DB)

Knightmare: (his blade strikes the shield so many times it just goes right through it)

Black Metal: *Ungh!* (got stumbled a bit after the blade just broke the shield) Impossible! Y-your sword has just bypassed my deflector shield! (both herself AND DB got pummeled with a barrage of blades coming from KM's tornado; got knocked out crashing thru the wall)Β
BM and DB: *OOOF!*
DB: Uhhhhhh.... (bloodied and battered; still getting up, glances at KM) We're not thru with you yet! (takes out six of his deathbatarangs and throws them all at KM; some piecing thru his heart and head)

Knightmare: (starts spewing yet even more smoke from his wounds as his breathing becomes ragged)

Deathbat: (watches that in awe; backs off) Incredible. You do not seem to bleed. Eh? You must be an undead fighter.
Black Metal: (slowly gets up from the alley, with some dent marks present around her armor) Uhhh...

Knightmare: No... just so imbued with the fear I control that I am a manifestation of it...

Deathbat: (winced from his cut wounds) Errrr... (notices and smells that smoke) Hmm... I can taste your smoke. (feels a bit weird though) Uh oh... (starts to feel more scared now) A fear toxin... stolen from the S-scarecrow?! No... I-I cannot be afraid of...(stammers) anything! (runs far away scared) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! RUNAWAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black Metal: (gets up from her feet; noticing DB escaping) DEATHBAT, you cowardly freak!! Where're you think you're going?! (grumbles; turns to KM in respect) You fought really well, Knightmare. It looks like you going to be among the most elite yet fearful reserve warriors of the Red Dragon Legion, and I'm sure Dire and Beast Machine will be proud of you. 'S a pleasure to meet you. I'll keep you in touch sometime. FAREWELL! (turns her back, flaps her wings to get on flight, and follow's DB's trail)

Knightmare: What a delight it will be to serve under a king again... (sits down and plants his sword in the ground) ...one I can keep my faith in, I hope... (puts his helmet in between his legs and lies down)

(after a short while, the trail suddenly ceases. and with it, a large figure emerges from it)
???: (glances back, his visor glows a brighter blue)

???: (stops running and casually walks up to him) I couldn't possibly fail to notice your flight.
