I love TF2, and I love Mann vs Machine, but the plotline of MVM leads to some interesting quirks.

The first hint to MVM and robots in TF2 was given in the Engineer update. In the background; you can see blueprints for Scout robots, as well as the head of a robot Heavy. Just a throwaway cameo? Most likely, as Valve throws cameos in all the time throughout their videos.

In the MVM update, a comic reveals that the long lost brother of Blutarch and Redmond; Grey Mann has returned in order to take control. How? By killing off the real mercenaries with robotic replicas, and a mass produced army of them.

Anyway; why is this important? Because reading between the lines; it's implied the the Engineer may have in fact invented the robots; and Grey Mann may have funded the project to invent them, only to backstab the Engineer and mass produce an army to kill off the mercenaries of RED and BLU. Thinking about it this way; also makes the Engineer's robotic enhancements make more sense as well; for who better to build a robot army than a man that has robotic limbs he built himself. When looked at this way; it makes him seem more like the hero of MVM trying to gain redemption with his friends against the hoards of demons he made himself.

Maybe I got this wrong; but this is the way I view MVM, and it may also explain why I like to play Engineer in MVM. It makes it seem more complete.
