More content regarding both Mystoria and Trouble in the Midst. Both me and have pretty much considered the idea of making the two series take place in, if not the same, at least a similar universe.

Anyway, to explain this image. This features Ryder and Axis (He evolved in this scenario, so don't shoot me for depicting him that way. was alright with it.) after Axis has evolved, the two of them realize a little thing involving Nikolai. Now, in order to understand the joke, a little insight for those who don't know. Both Raichu and Dewott have an average height of 2'07", meaning that normally they are the exact same height; normally.

Nikolai is actually a runt compared to other Dewott, being slightly shorter than the average 2'07" (being more around 2'02" instead), which drives him crazy, because it actually puts him in the height range of an average female Dewott (In real life, female otters are considerably smaller than their male counterparts. This is the only notable sexual dimorphism they have). Now, to explain how this applies, it is rather simple.

Nikolai doesn't often get mistaken for his gender, but he does have a slight case of "height envy" due to his runt status. Even towards his Grandson Ryder, he is considerably shorter. So much that he actually has to stand on the front end of his feet too even come close to matching his height. To add to this, Axis is actually slightly larger than average size, so the two of them felt it was slightly humorous that Nikolai, despite being hugely older than them (Ryder is 26, Axis is 16 while Nikolai is around 92), that he is so much shorter than them; but that he is so desperate to not appear that way, that he attempts to depict himself as being taller. Axis and Ryder get a laugh out of it, Nikolai on the other hand is highly displeased.

At least he's still taller than his son Ciel, since a Pikachu's average height is 1'04".
