Description

There was once a boy who was made to bear the brand of Pulse.
By awakened blood, a vision of a future to come reached him.
It spoke of insanity, betrayal, destruction—by his chosen hands.
The boy was scared, terrified of this vision, and of himself.
‘I should be cast aside to die—to protect that which I love.’
By Her Providence’s will, one came forth to test his mettle.
Should he conquer one’s walls, fate would never break him.
Her Providence released the boy from his brand when the nest fell.
Yet he lost more than this burden that day—by entropy’s claws.
One served the Knight of Her Providence against the fallen Guardian.
And yet one never ceased to watch over his true master.
One saw him grow and seize the reins of his own destiny.
Conqueror of fate, builder of new futures, beacon of his kind.
Until time and history crumbled down by Her Providence’s death.
One found himself unable to act—banished to the rift.
To watch his master’s light wane in the Luminous’s wake.
Untold suffering, profaned flesh, shattered spirit.
Prisoner of his skyborne fortress—of his own work.
His vision, witnessed a millennia ago, drawing near.
One remembered his master’s bleeding heart.
One heard the whispers of his master’s resolve.
‘I should be cast aside to die—to protect that which I love.’
His will stood fast in the face of his fated demise.
To save his kind he would become its everlasting walls.
To shield his kind from the Luminous’s encroaching light.
His and the Luminous’s radiance to become one—he chose obscurity.
Yet his soul was mended by the Savior’s wish for his salvation.
And by promise eternal, he became Savior of hers in turn.
The lines were drawn for a final confrontation with the Luminous.
In that moment, one glimpsed the boy his master once was.
‘Do I deserve to live after having failed all that I love?’
Alongside the Herald of Storms, one answered the voiceless call.
And despite parting ways to separate realms, one knows this.
Many eternities may pass, yet this shall ever remain a truth.
Not even death can conquer the light of hope—his very spirit.
Thus one is bound forever to his master beyond time and space.
There is no need of a brand, nor of Her Providence’s command.
One shall serve the protector of mankind for as long as his walls stand.
Such is Alexander’s pact of blood—unbent, unbreakable, unyielding.

Welp, it has been a while since I drew something with a proper accompanying written piece—this time, I wanted to explore Alexander's answer to Hope's call in LR's ending. Since, you know, Lightning had Odin around in the form of the Angel of Valhalla and all that, but what about Hope and Alexander? And I know I could ask the same for the rest of the crew, but in the cinematic sequence, Lightning and Hope joint-summon Odin and Alexander before the rest appear to lend them a hand, so that is why Alexander's summoning by Hope piques my interest and fascination way more than the others. And, well, because it is about Hope, of course—there is no denying that.
