Had a few questions from friends regarding what Magi looked like without the cloth covering, and where Tyks ended/began.

Tyks has a soft ray like body, with two sets of wings which he folds up to resemble horns when riding atop Magi's head. He does this to add to the illusion that Magi is stronger then he really is (or at the very least a tad more imposing lol)

Magi does not possess arms of any kind, and it is a trick on Claire's part to sew false arms into his cloth covering.
In regard to his wings, no he was not brutally abused as a pup, nor does his Dragon origin have some horrific backstory X'D
Patchwork dragons are considered lowly for a reason, as they lack both scales and the ability create a sturdy enough membrane to sustain their bodies in flight.
They are completely dependent on their riders for both creating and caring for their wings if they ever hope to obtain flight.
