The trees bowed down and the wires mourned
When the darkness lost its light
And the drums beat on as the clouds lay down
And the phantom things took flight
Our eardrums rang like silver bells
As the monsters held their breath
And with the light there was no light
But cold electric death
Their towers rose like grim defeat
In steel made of clouds
And silence marched to the beat of a heart
As night cast off its shrowd
Fire cracked the sky in half
And oh, it roared in pain
But shed away the evil things
In blood that fell like rain
All the earth is dying now
As all the earth's alive
As we sit inside our plastic cage
And pray that we survive
The hostage of a hostage
Of this suicidal day
As the sky glares down upon itself
And washes us away
