A few minutes later, Krystal was talking with Fox and Philip. She told them why Sasha was after her and how she reacted after learning the truth.

“Right now, her remorse is affecting her,” said Krystal. “Sasha was sobbing when I left and Drossel decided to stay to keep her company. Since she was lied to act against us, I didn’t dare to blame her. After all, I made a big mistake once, Fox. Personally, I believe she needs help to get over her mistake and find out what really happened to her parents.”

“I also checked her dossier in the database of Cornerian bounty hunters. Sasha Hunter is described as an honorable crime fighter, more interested in arresting the culprits than getting money.”

Fox nodded. “Well, the way I see it, she was maneuvered into participating in this mission with this Black Ops team.”

Philip raised an eyebrow. “Why do you say that, Mr. McCloud?”

Fox chuckled. “Call me Fox, Mr. Heart. And I said that because a black operation is a covert mission that conceals who is behind it by making it looks like the work of someone else. And, in this particular mission, I’m inclined to believe the blame would fall on Sasha. I’m also sure she was needed as the fourth member. You’ll see, the first time Krystal and I met Derek White, we were helped by our friends Drossel and Cesar. Obviously, whoever was in charge of this mission, decided to have someone to counteract each of us. Derek could face me, the robot could tackle Drossel and Josh could take care of Cesar with the help of their new power armor.”

Krystal nodded, understanding. “They needed someone to face me and choose Sasha for the job!”

Fox turned to Krystal and nodded. “That’s right. Now, Mr. Heart, what are you planning to do?”

Philip sighed. “Well, I was talking with my wife about our next move. I know everyone here is scared by these people and we lack the means to face them in case this happens again, so we were thinking in leaving this place. Daniel is coming with us too, since he was fired by his boss, who fears any reprisals from Derek and Josh.”

Krystal smiled. “You can come with us to New Hope. We have friends there and the Black Ops team has yet to find a way there.”

Fox chuckled. “And even if they do, we have already alerted the authorities. If Josh and Derek show their ugly faces in that world, they will have a nice cell waiting for them!”
