                              Chapter Twenty-Five: Forgetting Her

He couldn't move from Demeter's arms; he didn't think it would be this hard but apparently it was.  He was glad that Demeter was there he didn't think he could handle it by himself while he laid there he stroked her hair and soon they fell asleep on the couch together.

The next morning he woke up only to step on the collar and pick it up, it all came flooding back again but he held it in this time. Each step forward reminded him of how much she had impacted him; he lapsed again; he took out a beer bottle that had been sitting in the back and was about to drink when it got knocked out of his hand.

"Not this time dragon; you're not about to go down that path again" it was Sage, he looked sideways at her and said "Why can't I?"

"Because I'm not holding anybody's hand while you're in rehab again'

'Where the heck did you come from anyway?'

"I got a key remember?"

"Oh yeah, I did give you one didn't I?"

"Yes you did Draggy, now Demeter called me in the middle of the night, what is this about you and Ophelia splitting up"

"Uh, yeah it's over between me and her. Just like all of you warned me about." He leaned against the counter and sighed "I should've listened to you all; you do know what the heck you're talking about"
"We just know you Caleb we really do; we have been around you for a long time, me being the longest and Angela being the second longest friend of yours; by the way she wants to talk to you when you're ready. Said something about making it up to you; which I really hope she means cause I can't take being you're messenger when you just ignore me"

"I will Malvina, it's just hard'

"I know it is kiddo"

"Hey I'm twenty freaking three almost twenty four!"

"Yeah well you know I hate that name"

"Ok point taken"

When they went back into the room Demeter had woken up again, she looked at sage and smiled then looked at Caleb, "sorry I called her over earlier. I thought both of us hanging out with you would distract you enough"

"Just please not sex, I couldn't handle that." He said half joking cause he knew they wouldn't do that to him and he was feeling like crap anyway.

"Aww and I had planned on throwing you down and fucking the hell out of you" Sage said smiling cockily

They all sat around talking, they had discussed what exactly happened and why; she reacted much the way they expected slapping each of them on the back of the head; they laughed and she said

"You know if you wanted to fuck I could've covered for ya'll"

"That wasn't the reason sweetie" Demeter said

"I know I'm just making a freaking joke Demeter"

"I know this as well" she smiled

Caleb started to laugh for no reason, and then said "the reaction of Lucian was the best though; trying to defend her honor, I really don't understand why though they were caught red handed and I should have realized it earlier than this, I've just been…"

"Lovestruck" Demeter and Sage said in unison

They were right he had been love struck; and now that he thought about it, it made him afraid of his feelings for Demeter.  Were they just a passing fancy? Did he actually love her; did he even deserve her. He leaned back onto the bottom of the chair.  He was glad they were here cause if they weren't he would've very well been lost in his thoughts all day and that, at this moment was not a good thing.
It wasn't until around noon that they got up and started to move around; Demeter started going through Ophelia's stuff and packing it up.  Somehow or other some of the 'toys' that Ophelia had bought disappeared into a box of Caleb's toys he just shrugged and laughed when he saw that demeter was looking at a silver bullet that hadn't been opened he said "Don't you have enough of those?"

Demeter responded "A girl can never have too many toys sweets"

"I guess not"

After that all of her clothes went out on the front lawn and they left for the lunch; where? He didn't know and he rightfully didn't care.  He was soaring when he remembered the one thing about last night aside from releasing Ophelia that had gone wrong yesterday

"John impounded my bike didn't he?"

"Yeah, we'll have to swing by  the impound and pick it up sometime today" assured demeter
Caleb nodded glad for once he had someone he could depend on; they did swing by and pick it up Demeter footing part of the bill because he was running low.  He would have to start doing photo jobs again now that he was free to do so.

Over the next several days Caleb was in a fog, his friends began to decrease because he wasn't acting quiet himself and thought it was best to leave him alone for a while; Demeter had to take a trip back home because of family issues, and that left him alone pretty much twenty-four seven.  He began to think back on it and it began to really hit him that she was gone; make no mistake, she was kinda glad she was but there was still a lot that reminded him of her.

One day after a furious work out in the upper room he dried himself off only to see the red panties she had worn not a few months before, he couldn't help himself; partly because of his panty fetish partly because he missed her he picked it up and sniffed, there was a lingering waft of scent left still.  That kick started his memories, he flashed back to picking her out.  How soft her skin felt, how her tuft of hair between her legs was finely coarse; he was growing hard and he could sense it but out of aggravation he threw the pair of panties into the trash.  He couldn't be bothered with that now if he lost focus he would slip and that was the least of his worries.

Surely as it should happen, Demeter said she would only take him into training if he proved to be worthy after she got back.  That meant getting rid of his broken heart in less than a week; an impossible task as everything around him reminded him of her.

It was like a poison under his skin, and his only way to even get rid of it, was one he feared; meditation.
