A friend of mine and myself are doing a research project in mathematics/computer science about plane curves as they are used in vector graphics. Now, the time to write a paper about our project has come, and I found myself in need of both some illustrations for the paper and some experience with Inkscape's Spiro splines (www.levien.com/spiro/ ) in order to write about them. Fluttershy with her curly mane and tail as well as the general smooth curvyness that ponies seem to share, seemed like an obvious choice of subject. So you could basically say that I'm awarded university credits for vectoring ponies .

The vector was traced from a scene in Sonic Rainboom (around 10:03) using Inkscape. I made a few minor adjustments. The curves are built almost exclusively using Spiro splines. The thing took me about 1.5 afternoons.
