Edit 3/28/11 I found the original "sketch" for this and thought I'd add it up at the top there XD ahahaha so now you now what it looks like when I first "sketch" something out. I think I made that first outline idea in PS and I was zoomed out at 30 or 40%, that's why it's so jaggedy. PS sucks

I don't know how you do this. I get to step.... Two, with way less cleaner lines, and then faceplant. Oh well, we all can't be super great right?

Woops I lied, I forgot that I made this in SAI (except for the top sketch).
It's okay if yours doesn't look exactly like mine... I used a program called SAI to make the outline for this picture, and I have a fairly accurate tablet to draw with too. You should check out SAI, it's way better than Photoshop when it comes to smooth lines

Haha well actually, I have Paint Tool Sai. I like it much better than Photoshop.
Still doesn't turn out like your work though.....

Do you have a ripped version of it, or is it the full thing? There should be an option for pen smoothness - make sure it's on S-7. Other than that, I have no other helps to offer

I bought it. And became rather unhappy with Paypal, but that is a different story!
I'll take a look at it, but I'm sure the flaw is my own, not the program. It's doing much better than photoshop ever did! (And I won't even mention gimp.... Oooops, I think I just did)

D: Wha, how, huh? What did you do to your lineart? Are you painting under it or over it? It looks really nice!

In the first panel the color was on a layer below the lineart. On all the other panels though, I colored above the lineart so it covered up the outlines a little and faded it out in some areas. In panels 3 and 4 I edited the outline color from black to hues of bluish gray to soften the look. And on the 4th panel I went and cleaned up the lineart a bit by drawing on top of it so that it came out less messy and more defined

Ahhh, ok I was wondering if that is what you did. I haven't ever tried to color that way, and I have always liked the look I just never figured out how to do it sensibly.

I hate drawing above or without outlines, but I'm trying really hard to get over that. It takes some practice to improve I'm finding
