The rules of language fascinate me, but challenge me always.

This caught my eye, because it's true in more ways than one. My fibromyalgia only acts up with the change of seasons, and that changes my mood. It can be pouring rain at the seashore and I always feel wonderful. Memories, salt air, change of scene, they all kick in.
I wish I had more time to read, I get about 80 submissions a day on my website, about 3 get through. I like these snippets, they have a place; my page on one of the health features for instance. I will read the longer work, you got the hook in me.

About a decade ago I knew someone with fibromyalgia, and I remember that even the slightest change in the weather brought her discomfort at a minimum. She struggled with it daily. I should have suggested salt air to her, come to think of it - the ocean is a wonder to simply stand and look at from the beach. Being out on it, far enough to not be able to see land, is almost magical to me. It's been a while since I could do that.
Thanks for reading as you're able to. It's impossible to keep up on dA. I have to cull regularly. But I got hooked on your gallery, and the pull of it is as lunar-charged for me as it is to the oceans. ♥

I am more than a little flattered. If you don't mind, every time I wrote a poem, I got sympathy notes. That's when I wrote this.
THIS ONE IS ABOUT ME
Every day, some days, once in awhile,
the photographs of my mind come
into focus, bombarding my cerebral
field with small glimpses of this time
called mine, only mine with views
shared with few, the most trusted who
may see parts of me, never the whole.
the entirety too complex, intricate
to be understood, even by myself.
Travels through life with feelings,
emotions, thoughts, only mine alone,
in a world too busy it overlooks a scream
for help or to help, in the longing to
be perfect; impossible for anyone
called human in any age any year.
Finally after watching, praying, dreaming
as the passage of time takes me down
good paths, pleasant trails, bumpy roads,
am I able to look at the pictures
as I am willing to see this person change.
