Description
Another painting finished at Animazement 2010. He's kind of concerned about something.. D:Watercolor and white ink on watercolor paper.
---
Hey, whoa, I got DD'd while I was away at Dragon*Con D:
Thank you very much for that, and for all of your comments! A lot of you have asked similar questions, so I will try to explain a little bit about the painting process I used and about the white ink either here or in an entry... One day I'll try a tutorial, but I'm not very good at those;;
For the moment, if you'd like to know, most of my watercolor technique is based on the teachings of Lian Zhen ( [link] <-- his page here), who is a -huge- inspiration to me. I can only hope to be as skilled as he is one day... He has published a number of books, I recommend them highly.
Also, you can credit for introducing me to Doctor PH Martin's Pen White ink, which is what I used to do the highlights/white lines on this picture.
More later!

B-buh, lookit that face D: I want to reassure him that everything's okay!
...actually, given the splashes of crimson about the picture, maybe not everything's so okay.
As usual, darling, great work with expressions and the watercolors.

Beautiful! I love the colours and the white lines you've used for the fish
This reminds me of a book I read when I was little - I don't remember what it was about, but the fish in the story was holographic. This painting has got the same kind of lovely 'shimmery' effect.

Very beautiful! All of the colors blended together very nicely. I love how you focussed the red on the face, it tries to draw your attention there.
Some critique is that the top; the stark contrast between the color and white takes the attention away from the fish's face, for me at least. If you were thinking of going back to it, maybe adding darker color around the fish's face to emphasize it and maybe more strait white detail.

I love how all of the colors mesh together without clashing and ruining the underwater-like effect. (Oho, underwater, water colors - ...er.) And its expression is so cute, I want to keep it forever. AHHHH awesome.

I love the colors in this work. Just by seeing this single one, I'm going through your gallery. <3
The scales on him blend in so nicely with the work and the eyes are bright and life like. Ringlets on the water? Ohemgee. <3
