Description Old art, from the slideshow vid I made. Violet trapped by the Zero Point Energy--I'm not sure why I chose green, but I think it's just that I've been running out of colors to use for her Supersuits. *laughs* So green was a go...even if it looks like I'm trying to make her part of the Green Lantern Corps.

Again.

*coughs* Anyway, Syndrome and Violet belong to Brad Bird, D1sney/P1xar, but the outfit belongs to me.

(First time drawing anything midriff-baring, and I'm not sure if I'm happy with it but it looks good for the moment so I'm not going to worry about it...even if it's not an outfit I would be caught wearing. XD )

"Cold as Ice" is by Foreigner, but every time I listen to it I either think about Seto Kaiba, Snape, Syndrome, or Jareth. C'est la vie.

Drawn in Open Canvas. Second attempt.

Have you tried the 'former' brushes yet? Personally, I think they're much better than the default brushes.

There's only one that pops up--the watercolor really is the only present brush or former brush. I can't find any of the rest. :/

We should convene when you have the time and discuss some of the wonders that are Open Canvas. The biggest problem is that there aren't any tutorials for it in English. Fortunately, I've learned quite a bit about it through trial and error, so hopefully you can work from some of my experience which should shorten the learning curve a bit.

Well, I'm still going to use it for certain things. So we can still talk about it later...or we can just explore my new program together. There are so many things I need help with.

Well, if you're willing I'd love to play with it. I hear the brushes are extremely intuitive.

I'd be glad to go over some of the less obvious things with you whenever you want. We should plan a day when I can come over with my laptop and we can just paint together.

They really are lovely, you just have to take the time to acclimate to each one before things really get going. And since there are so many it's probably going to take a while. Still, I really love the effect the artist's pencil has in replicating my sketchy, messy style on the computer. And Control Z is such a lovely feature, too. XD *laughs*

That would be a lot of fun! And you can definitely give me some pointers on drawing and painting digitally--sometimes I don't even know where to start.

Omg, I would totally die without ctrl z these days. Well, first thing I suggest is to get to know your programs and what they can do for you. Then when you're ready make some custom brushes because that's really going to help you know your art. After that its just practice and constant learning. I have a ton of tutorials that I can reference you to that will help.

The hardest part is being patient I think. I'm always saying to myself, "I wish I were as good as X right now". >< lol

Well, I hope to get the chance to really know the program this semester--I'm taking Illustration, and I really want to figure out all the ins and outs of the programs. We'll have to see how things go, but I'm overall stoked for the Spring for that reason alone. =^__^=

I feel your pain. My current "X" is in the same ward as I am, and has become my friend. But her art is SOOOOO beautiful...but is an Anime style. XD And I've moved beyond so all I can do is stare in envy, then think to myself, "okay, pay attention to what she is doing but don't try and emmulate her style or anything." Yeeeah. It's fun.

I don't know, I think its important to imitate the styles of other artists. You learn a lot that way.

Well, I know I can learn certain things from her (such as how to make poses more dynamic, and how to do better creases in clothing) but I'm going to try and avoid her style, since it's an Anime-influenced one and, well, that's just not as pleasing to me anymore. *shrugs*

I understand. I was never into anime, but remember that bobble-head style I had. That was hard to give up.

And my Previous Anime style as well. It was a rough hurdle to jump over.
