What type of rubber do you use to make these? I've got a few ideas for stamps and I think I could do this myself.

I don't use rubber. I use Speedball brand carving blocks, which is a sort of flimsy pink material. If you want to get started with stamp carving, I would recommend practicing on a Pink Pearl eraser.

I used a Speedball carving block for this one; I've found that it's the best.
