Okay well I'd love for them meet once it's up! I feel like their personalities are gonna be very different and would make for interesting interactions. Maybe they'd become unlikely dysfunctional friends haha

We say Strøm for both current and electricity, a lot of words can be used and have several different meanings. I live in Norway and we do in fact use Strøm as a general word for electricity all the time. Please look into more meanings for a word before trying to lecture someone about their own language and how to use it.

Oh, I had no idea you were from Norway
I'm just learning Norwegian and Danish.

Edit for a bit of elaboration, I meant no offense and was only trying to be helpful with what little knowledge I have, simply because when I see people giving characters names from other (non-English) languages that's supposed to be a word or mean something they're not quite right . 
I happen to love Scandinavia so maybe I jumped the gun a little, please do forgive me.

It is fine.
I see a lot of people naming their character words from other languages as well but I usually look into meanings and names before naming a character something directly linked to a word or an actual word.

We have both Bokmål and Nynorsk as written languages in Norway as well as many heavy accents and slang so keep that in mind til next mind. Just because a word is not yet in the dictionary it can still be commonly used vocally among people and one word can have several meanings depending on how you use it.
Strøm can mean both a water current and an electric current and both are said as just strøm so I can see it getting confusing. c:

Yes, it's the Oslo dialect I'm trying to learn to speak and Bokmål to write, though I'm not very far into my learning yet.
I do try to keep all that in mind, dialects and colloquialisms. I'd love for the chance to one day live in either Norway or Denmark but right now I live in America which makes it next to impossible to know all the colloquialisms of a language that isn't commonly spoken here.

And okay that's what I thought when I read it, that it meant more like a water current but it's good to know it is used both ways, thank you!
