challenge no. 35I didn't submit anything for quite some time... that's because I was working on this kid for a long time...he's just a kid, looking for someone to take care of him, someone to hold his hand and guide him...
but no one really cares because they all want it as bad as he does
I used pencils 4H-9B and soft charcoal and black pencil pastel for darkest tones and lines, tissue, q-tips, kneaded ereaser

I think this is your best picture, at least for me. Someone pointed out the detail in your hair and that's well worked but the emotion captured in the child does it for me. It's very good work indeed.

Very nice. Especially in child's case it's very hard to draw eyes, cause for some reason they are always expected to tell more then adult's ones. Nice gallery all the way.

Thanks!!! About the different medium- at first there were lot of problems because neither pastel neither charcoal wanted to hold on pencil, but now I have soft charcoal which hold well and I put pastel only over pencils harder than 2B... It's not hard but it can be a bit tricky to keep everything clean and without some ugly dirty spots! Bledning's not a problem, there's much more work with pencil blending!
