Description
One of my classes was canceled today so I had time to finish that sketch, which was laying around for a while now.I went through a cycle of loving it to hating it to loving it again while doing this. I think the dogs are well made but the perspective is sooo sketchy. I'm still conflicted about it.
Anyway, I wanted for a while to draw some of the spiny dogs of my world. They're actually wild dogs but a good bunch were domesticated and now they're as common as pet as in the wild. Here you can see a lone Tuskold surrounded by a pack of Razorback Hounds. Tuskolds and Razorbacks are ennemies in the wild and they jump on every occasion to kill each others, taking advantage of separated or lpst individuals. Tuskolds are bigger and stronger than Razorbacks but less agile and tactical. They steal prey more often than they kill, using their size and tusks to bully competitors away. And its usually Razorback Hounds that get their prey stolen. Tuskolds are known to be rather aggressive, even to other members of their pack, and are usually used as guard or police dogs. Razorback Hounds, on the contrary, are known for being very curious and social. They are very good with kids and such, a smaller version is a common family pet. A rarer but very prized race is the Tusked Hound, the mix between a Razorback and a Tuskold. Being both fast and strong with a toned down aggressivity makes it a prized hunting or war dog. One of the main characters of my world actually have a few Tusked Hounds and another have a Tuskold.
If I should make a comparison with the real world, the Tuskold would pretty much act like lions while Razorback Hounds would be painted dogs or maybe hyenas.
I might get another sketchpage down this week, of my little harpies (both of them). I'm finally getting the hang of their features, especially those of Teck, which I never posted.... I'll see how much work I have.
