Description I want to start practicing more background painting, so here's a little speedpainting with Igor in it to start! Here I tried to focus harder on color and composition rather than detail.

I tried to depict here how I've been feeling for the past few months. Sometimes I just need to be alone, so I can get lost in my own contemplation.

Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

You wanted critique, I shall give you critique. Ive been wanting to review this like an art critic for awhile but I havent had a chance to formulate the words. Anyhow I'll break this down in each category.

Vision) Overall this IMO looks like something I once saw in an art museum with your use of colors to bring out the sky going from day to dusk as it enhances an uncertainity in the mood here. The mountainous landscape has details from Arizona, especially the Mesa this character is perched upon, overall I give the vision high stats.

Originality) Theres not much going on the outside but inside, one could tell he's really thinking of something and the atmosphere provides hints perhaps he's worried about an uncertain future he might be dealt with later in life and he's a tad balled up on the cliff as he stares into the sky. Poses like that arent too too common but the way how you draw him really makes the diffrence between a low and high stats.

Technique) Ive said it once and I shall say it again; your attention to detail with the character and how you design them is top notch, the details are impressive and the fold lines...while basic with the choice of clothes, really makes me feel that the clothes are somewhat loose on this character and the scales of this Iguana give him an exotic look so thats high stats.

Overall Impact) Full score and...well not to quote Abe Lincoln but overall, the picture really emphasizes on how you must feel how you're standing in the threshold of uncertainity and the choices one must make will be the diffrence in the future.I give this all stats due to the fact you really captured this moment in a top notch detail here. Nice job overall.

I'm glad you decided to employ atmospheric perspective instead of giving EVERYTHING detailed.  It focus to where it needs to be: the character.

A feeling we all get a lot, it seems...
Especially when a guy just can't get a job. I just have to do the best I can, and leave it in the hands of a Higher Authority...

The whole scene is fantastic!
You did a good job on the clouds, that make reference to the sunset.
Colors and nuances are cool
Regarding the background, it is very realistic. The rocks look also nice.
I like Igor's pose and expression.
Peaceful atmosphere.

As someone who lives in an area with great sunsets (Southwest US Desert) , can say that the sky colors and how they work on the rocks is very special here. Realism in the shapes of the clouds and how they dim over their length. Beautiful-

Igor comes out well too. Get that alone - time in , when needed.
