Description Second tutorial, semi-realistic eyes. These small tutorials are supplementary for the budget stream this Friday and Saturday.
This incorporates the use of plastic paint pallets and make about a 28-30mm sized eye. Best for a slim/realistic/partial sized head.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Paint pallets
Buckram (or other mesh you can see through)
Paint
Markers

TOOLS NEEDED:
Glue gun
Scissors
Hobby knife

OPTIONAL TOOLS:
Dremel (highly recommended)

The first method ‘works’ but it’s a last resort super low tech since it’s not very safe and the results vary. Use a hot glue gun to melt through then use the hobby knife to smooth out and finish.

A Dremel is better. There’s $15 battery powered dremels for starters. You can see the difference between a dremel and the glue gun method. There’s several stone, metal, and sanding bits that work perfectly for a nice circle.

Buckram for a pupil. Paint the plastic first before adding the buckram & add eyelids last! Smooth following effect.

Part 1 of 2 of the budget stream will be today at 11am EDT at www.picarto.tv/SharpeCostumes

What is the budget stream? It’s a live webinar showing how to fabricate a safe and usable fursuit head out of lower quality or cheaper materials (materials that are simple to use for novice makers that want to build, learn to build, and practice with, without breaking the bank). These materials are a good foundation to try before moving onto more expensive materials.

Lower quality doesn’t always mean bad quality when used properly and safely.
