This looks amazing!

I've been staring at this for like an hour now trying to figure out how you got the raised up folds/pleats or whatever in the leather to stay up like that. I've been wanting to try making some leather armor pieces for a while but I don't know how to do details like that (which I would really love to learn how to do). May I ask what kind of leather you use for your work?

For these things I mainly use 3-4mm ox chrometanned

I didn't know chrome tanned leather could keep tooling marks. I tried using some once but it didn't keep the pattern I put on it.

Grease it alot, a day or so after most chrometanned leathers should hold atleast some impressions! I used a homemade tool to make mine so I dont know what typ of tools to recommend tho=/

I understand that u make a lot of things to larp in them. But I like this one most, because the disign is quite light, it dosenΒ΄t look like it weight a lot and the best part is, that u can combine it with a lot of stuff. IΒ΄m thinking about some one armed light armor, or something similar. Have to keep u in mind^^ U should open an own store, u know that?

Well heck, I'll have to get some money set aside for one. I would like this exact design, might I ask how much one would go for? If measurements are necessary for calculating the price, my shoulder span is 44", my chest is 40", my abdomen just below my solar plexus is 36" and my waist is 34".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sharpener In reply to Acieldama [2009-03-11 00:00:12 +0000 UTC]

well making this exact one will be a bit difficult, as I hav eallready promised the design to be one of a kind to our mage, but to make a simular looking ribcage-like harness is no impossibility

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Acieldama In reply to Sharpener [2009-03-11 00:05:03 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, well I really do like the three straps connected to the middle spine attached to a collar, so using that as a base shape, but changing up the design would be OK with me. I would just need to know how much it would go for before I get you to spend time designing something.

I like it, my stuff usually are not as decorated as yours are.
Good job
