Well:
Either buy a pre-made maquette of a mans head, or cast one of your own in plaster (using alginate around your face, plastic foil in your hair, vaseline in your eyebrows and drinking-straws in your noseXP. Then cover the alginated area with straps of plaster-bandades to strengthen the mold. Cut or carefully crack the plasterbands from one ear to the other, riding across your top head t get two solid pieces of plaster.).
A plastered copy of your head is ofc ideal as you want the mask to be as custom to you as pos
Once you have a head, start sculpting using oil based clay (I prefer Chavant-clay, as it is quite solid when unpacked and at the beginning of eatch use, but can be softened by heating it up with a hairdryer or such) starting with the eyes (as these are the only two real key-points in a sculpt like this) and out.
Once the raw sculpt is done and IF you want it more smooth and machine-cut looking, you can put it somewhere cold like a cellar or cold pantry (or the frige, NOT freezer!) and leave it there for a couple hours or so. When taken out (if using chavant or any other DENSE type of clay) you can actually sandpaper it down, getting rid of all your fingermarks etc left on the sculpt!
Once COMPLETELLY satisfyed with your sculpt, start brushing on some casting-silicone (I preffer MoldMax). Brushing is to ensure that the silicone reaches all cavities(Spelling?) and details propperly. Once the first layer is brushed you can apply the silicone in most anyway you want, u can put thesculpt in a plastic box and fill it, you can ad thickeners and keep brushing etc.
Now, the manuals tell u to wait untill completelly dry before adding new layers to your MOLD. I care not of such nonsence as applying this in a propper, MANLY fashion (no manual) will teach u a thing or two.. Mostly it says to READ MANUAL ofc, but I've also come to realize that NEARLY hardened silicone blends much better with new layers than completelly hardened! When the silicone is just between sticky and dry (when touching it will leave a mark but none of the silicone is stuck on your hand), is Ideal! Also, when doing masks and round stuff like this have atleast an inch thick of silicone everywhere!
When Silicone mold is done, repeat the plasterbandade-routine. OR, if u are hardcore and want the mold to last more castings, cover it in fibreglass and gently saw the two halves apart
Now you can fill this perfect mold with any resin combinable with molding silicone you want I cast my first ones in a plastic called TASK13 (formerly C-1515). Black and tear-resistant
Hope this helped you some

This was one of THE MOST easily sculpted pieces I ever made Just threw the clay on it slammed around to try and get a hammered metalic look, and added some textures

So what did you use to sculpt it on though? Did you have a face sculpt to sculpt off or something? Sorry... just considering starting some sculpturing so I'm very curious.

I sculpted it on a plastercast of my own head

Love the mask. I'd love how to learn to make one if you would be willing to teach.
