A secret santa art I did for someone on Bulbagarden oekaki
I LOVE how it came out! It was inspired by the episode "Ash Catches a Pokemon" when caterpie is telling pikachu that it can't wait to become butterfree.

Aww, thanks! Yeah, I wanted this to have more of a storybook feel to it, so I did it in photoshop instead of oekaki

A very pleasing impact this drawing has. I think one of the cooler things about a Pokemon's evolution is thinking about how some Pokemon, like Caterpie or Dratini, might imagine reaching their final stage. This captures that feeling quite well, I believe. It's well drawn, and there's a certain sense of hope that this piece manages to have.

Ah, you're right. I really thought that episode had a lot of heart and made caterpie even more loveable. But yeah, probably a lot of pokemon would think about what it would be like to evolve into their final selves. Thanks again for another lengthy comment
