Description
The Crescent Continent of Aelevar is where many of my stories take place and where most of the artwork on this page is featured. This is a pretty rough map, but it serves for the imagining I've been doing lately. At the very north are the Wyldlands, home to the Mutes (peoples without powers), the Stryders, Ashendras and other lost races. These lands are home to shattered rock, deep caverns and twisting caves. At the very edge of the Wyldlands is the territory of the Draelth dragon riders, Zenibrys. The land remains coarse and rough here, with harsh peaks, rocky deserts and glittering sand dunes. However, beneath these wastelands are the the moon caves of Ayre. The secret flow of water within has kept the Wyldlands both sustainable to its inhabitants as well as undesired by outside invaders.
To the southwest are the Riel forests and Ardona mountain range, home to the wild tribes of the Rieldaren. At the edge of their dense pine forests forests, just on the other side of the Aerion river, is the kingdom of Brioria. Resentful of the shared history they have with the Rieldaren, the Brentaren people wall themselves within one massive kingdom of plains and hills, keeping all outsiders, especially the accursed Rieldaren, out.
South of this unwelcoming territory is Elo-Teythar, an oasis near the middle of Aelevar where races suspiciously mingle with one another, forming alliances and stealing secrets. Elo-Teythar is not a kingdom with any ruler but a gigantic city, spreading out into the wilderness.
At the center of Aelevar is Eslantica, the Immortal Empire. Fortified by enormous jungles and crystal mountains, the capital kingdom of Caelum, with its waterfalls that freeze to crystal in the moonlight and its glowing midnight forests, is fiercely protected by the Immortal Kalestar. On the eastern side of the tropical forest lies the lost kingdom of the Wynged Kalestar, the only territory in all of Aelevar that does not meet the ocean with huge, steep cliffs. On the soft beaches of this peaceful kingdom, the Wyngeds were slaughtered out of existence by the Xalar legion.
In the south, from the border of the Immortal empire to the ocean peaks at the very edge of the Crescent, is the largest of all of Aelevar's nations: the Lunarian Empire. From their thrones in the shadowed city of Lunadria, the Xalar warlords maintain their enormous empire through blood and sacrifice. Set apart from the other Legend Bearing nations of Aelevar, the Xalars do not worship Ayre, the Creator-- instead, they turn their devotion to the Pure One, their Fallen Light. In the midst of every marsh, field and mountain range of Lunaria, the Xalar people await the Pure One's wrath on the lesser races of Aelevar, and the shedding of blood to come.
I'm studying abroad in England right now so all of the coming artwork will be traditional sketches. I miss my drawing tablet but I also definitely don't have time to make big drawings right now, just little sketches.
Sketch, design, story, names, and that funky-looking alphabet belong to me.
Miss you ! I'm working on the next chapter for you

Thanks! I don't know yet what I'll do for the other continents and islands of this world.... I suppose they won't all have specific shapes like this

Thanks! Got lots of terrain inspiration here in England, so that's been fun... Aelerien's story is back in my head. I think it has to do with the ocean and all the cliffs...
Haha, yeah. i'm working on it.

Nice to see someone making lore for a fictional world. This kind of reminds me of RWBY.

Thanks!
I've never seen (or read... but I think it's seen... it's a tv show, right?) RWBY, but I see fan art on dA sometimes and it looks interesting!

I still like it even though it's...... Not the best show. It has a lot of flaws surprisingly. Some of the things in it make no sense. But I'd still recommend watching it because there is still a lot of creativity in it. You can learn a lot about writing if you look up review videos that point out RWBY's flaws. Especially EruptionFang's channel on Youtube.
