Description
Here is my script...decided to just upload it since I wasn't doing anything with it...
Should work with all version of Apophysis that include the Rectangles variation...
Might complain about other variations if they're not there as well. Works well in 2.05 z+ c+...
Anyway, based on an idea I see ~Xantipa2 use sometimes... well, my attempt to copy it anyway. Check out her awesome work
Overlay adds a transform, and Clear adds 3 transforms.
Tell me how it works out... might need to calculate/randomise the color values afterwards.

I will try it out! Since I don't do scripting though, I will only be able to give you feedback based on my experience with it.

So far I haven't had a lot of luck with it. Can you give me some tips?

Have you been able to open it alright?
Or does it give out funny warnings?
All it does is add another transform to your fractal, or makes a new fractal with 3 transforms.
All of them have the rectangles and linear variations in them, and some other random variation...
Because it's completely random, you might have to run the script a few times to get some desired effect, and when you find something you like, you can delete all the previous rectangles transforms (or keep them, your choice).
I have tried it in Apophysis 2.05bz+c+ and Apophysis 2.06b

I've been able to open it and run it - in 2.06b - but wasn't happy with the results in 2.06b. Although they've added the rectangles variation, they haven't added the variable for the x-spacing and that is screwing things up. I'll open 2.05bz+c+ later today (have to go to work in a couple of hours) and try it again.
No funny warnings and it is doing exactly what you describe. I've played with the stained glass parameters provided by Platinus a little... you might want to consider only using two transforms when the clear option is used. I was deleting the third transform. Also, I've found that the second transform almost needs to be only half the size of the first transform. I never add variations to the second transform, only the first. I've tried Julia and juliaN, and had good luck with both. I tried Juliascope but didn't like the results on that one.
Like I said, I'll give it a try later today when I get off work.

Anj

I found that when I was clearing it, I needed at least 3 transforms to get a reasonable fractal... or one of the first two that always came up was a dud .
Hopefully, It should go through every variation at one point in time or another...
I did make a list of variations I liked in one of my older scripts, and even sometimes made some notes of other parameters used at the time...
//heart
//ex
//flower
//power,
//ngon, (3 sides, 1.15628 power, 1.69554 circle, 2.12336 corners)
//blade
//disc
//disc 2
//fan
//perspective x 1 rectangles x 0.1
... that was usually in overlay...

I'm not having much luck with this script. Maybe I just don't know how to use it properly. Now your t00bz one? That one works great guns. I've used it in 2.05z+c+.

It's really random... I usually just press |> and voila...
I spose I have to admit that it's not universally loved... A specific effect... well just for me anyway...

Ahhh... I get you. Well, it seems like it's not working well for me. As I said, I might not know how to work with it properly to get something nice... and that's MY problem, not yours. *smiles*

Oh, you are soooo kind! I feel funny that you have offered this, though, because I feel guilty for not making your script work for me. Sigh... I know, I'm being dumb.
I wouldn't know what to ask you for to be honest with you. I do know that the way I learned to do the stained glass style fractals was through *Platinus . He had me put blur in the first transform, and rectangles and linear in the second. I've only used two, but if I find an effect I really like I will post-transform the triangle that did it and continue to play. I have yet to post one, though. *grin*
So you see... I'm a fake. *grin* I don't really know what I'm doing... I just play. I HAVE figured out that linear causes repetition, and how a lot of the variations affect the fractal.
Aww... I really do appreciate you offering. You are so sweet! I know, I know, men don't like to be called sweet, but, hey, that's what it is. I''m going to keep trying with this script. I figure it's gotta be me, not you.

Anj

Stop! There is no script for everyone... I doubt that any script would work perfectly for everyone... except for maybe random tubes, lol.
I know that every single person that uses Apophysis, is always experimenting and always learning with each new fractal.
You have a great gallery

Awww... thank you for the wonderful compliment about my gallery.
So true how all of us Apo users are always experimenting. I rendered my first stained glass-like fractal today. Still don't know if I'll post it. I don't like to jump on bandwagons and prefer to be original... and, well, this doesn't REALLY look like the stuff other's have posted, but it's close. I used juliaN in the first transform along with the blur.
I've still not got the hang of tubes either. I try it, but don't like anything I do. Well, that's me though, I've been told by my friends that I'm harder on myself than anyone else ever thought of being.
Hey.. do I have you on my watch list? If not I would like to add you! And... I am going to try to do a feature this weekend. The grandchildren left today with their other grandparents to go on a vacation at Possum Kingdom out west of Fort Worth. They won't be back for 6 days. It's funny--strange funny, not haha funny--becoming a parent all over again is exhausting and I'm going to enjoy the peace and quiet this week, yet at the same time I miss the noise. Now how contrary can one person be????
Hugs,
Anj
