I've just realised something else about Shepard. If he's also a biotic, then I imagine it would be easier to handle Chief. Think about it, telekinesis, teleporting, bioticlly enhanced strength, speed, agility, and dexterity, biotic barriers, backlash, biotic lashes, biotic charge, and biotic invulnerability. (If the Turian Cabal Vanguard is any indication.)
