Description
Studying other artists should be a lifetime practice for any artist. You can learn a lot by seeing how they solve problems in their work. I do this very regularly as a warm up for inking. Dave Stevens could ink like nobody else. He was truly one of kind. Dave was also a very personable and agreeable guy the few times I met with him. He was taken from us far too soon.Related content

Where'd ya get the zip-a-tone? Or is that photoshop?
Great job! I love doing recreations as an exercise, myself. Tho I haven't attempted tackling a Dave Stevens.

I've actually got a stack of zip-a-tone that I've saved all these years. I only use it rarely.

No. I redrew it and then inked the my penciled version of it. I don't like inking on blue lines.
