I actually took pictures of him throughout the movie and took the colors, sorta put them on a "palette" on the computer, and chose the best ones that seemed most right. Took a while, but was worth it. I've got his colors for everything on his body you could possibly see. Gums, back of mouth, nails, back-patterns...

yes that's a good thing to do! I've done it myself before to get the right colors
and it's totally worth it, because it makes it looks like the more real stitch!
