Known as the LY-C8 Street Sweeper Droid, which resembling a giant mechanical snail, that had an eyestalk for detecting dirt, as well as a sweeping brush, vacuum, and rear-mounted scrub brush, the SSD, or Cleaning Snail Droid was build by the Techno Union subsidiary Core Cleaning Company was a cousin of the NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcer, also known as the Corporate Alliance Droid (CAD), Corporate Alliance tank droid, armored tank droid and snail droid tank, which was why it to was known among the class of Snail Droids. With certain stations were these droids would refuel cleaning products to then put on streets, or empty out their garbage containers, they were also very liked by Gangs and Criminal Cartels to use them for smuggling of people, goods, spices and other drugs and criminal items. Sometimes this, as well as the possibility of Coruscant Ogres, Corridor Ghouls and Cthon also hid atop, or in these automated droids, the Coruscant Security Force Underworld Police would occasionally stop and control them to prevent this from happening. Very short on manpower, sometimes also bribed and corrupt, they very rarely caught any of these problems riding alongside a Cleaning Snail Droid. This was why many citizens also associated thei Cleaning Mark or Cleaning Trail behind this Droids with areas to be cautious in, as they might not be so clean and secure as some might think and assume.

While some also still smuggled items, goods and personal as well, others were equipped with biological and chemical warfare against Clone Troopers, which they dispensed with the same systems they cleaned and spread cleaning products on the streets, while a few prototypes and specialized weapoend models actually could lay and sometimes even bury mines as modified models along their route.
