Description

Created by Kuat Drive Yards and exiled Wookiees from Appazanna Engineering Works the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was named after former Wookiee Senator and Supreme Chancellor Yarua. This Galactic Republic weapon was designed after the Oevvaor jet catamaran and the Raddaugh Gnasp fluttercraft and served as a mobile repulsor driven fighter/gunship inside the atmospheres of republic worlds. Not always as fast a their Separatist or Imperial counterparts the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft made nearly no sound and was able to turn or hold his position anywhere in mid air. Able to stop and fly just like a Droid Gunship the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was soon feared by it's enemies and able to hold off and destroy dozens of enemy fighters or bombers at once. Armed with two 180 degree rotating, sideways heavy repeat blasters, as well as rockets or torpedoes and bombs, the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was a one fluttecraft air corps ready to decimate his enemies in the air and on the ground in heavy numbers.

At first not take very serous and unable to operate in space, the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was still tested under battle conditions because of the limited supplies the Republic had in some parts of he front. As the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft stopped the enemy assault and caused heavy causalities for it's enemies even the hardest critics of the Wookiee Craft as some called it contemptuous suddenly went silent. Since the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was designed for orbital operations a Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT) or similar drop-craft had to transport them from space into orbit during a Invasion if they wished to engage the enemy before the Capital Ships had entered the world's orbit themselves. Unknown to most the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was soon produced in different variations. Some of the models specialized in air to air combat while others were modified to attack enemy armies or fortified positions on the ground. While the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft was a great expansion of the professional and specialized arsenal of the Grand Army of the Republic, the fluttercraft had it's weaknesses.

His lower speed then most enemy fighters, gunships ans bombers was not always a advantage over his enemies and his limited supply in heavy weapons made it necessary for the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft to fly in groups, so than one of them still full armed could secure the rest on their way back to their ship/base to restock it's rockets, torpedo or bombs. Still even with all these problems and disadvantaged the Yarua-Class Fluttercraft remained one of the most important orbital defense and attack crafts for the Grand Army of the Republic during the last year of the Clone Wars and would serve the Military for many more decades after that with many variations and new designs to following models of the GAR Yarua-Class Fluttercraft build by both the former Grand Army as well as many of it's enemies and competing factions, rebels, states, space pirates, crime cartels, imperial remnants or other groups.
