Ode to Douglas AdamsFive minutes is so short a time
For me to even think
Of I want to say to the world
For me to speak my peace
But five minutes is all I have
And it is going fast
So I'll cut this poem off with
"So long, and thanks for all the fish."

I love the works Douglas Adams did. And I wish I still had copies of some of them. (They went with the first ex-husband) Unfortunately after I lost the ones I had, I started to lose my vision. I'm considering getting them again but in digital form. Not quite the same but at least I could read them.
As I said in my description the poem was for a written exercise were we had five minutes to write anything. I wound up writing it in just under three minutes. Lol.
An after hours youth program for street kids that I was part of brought in a poetry writer to work with the kids who were interested. The group of us actually did a book of our poems to raise money for the program. The writer who ran it was one of the first people to tell me I should really consider writing stories as she felt I has a lot of talent at it. She also encouraged me to do more artworks as well. I will forever be grateful to her for her support.
