Does Yõkai as any way to be translated to english... lets say, the same way kami is usually translated to god, or spirit?
Of course, these translations can never carry its original meaning, but its cool to know I think.
As an extra, I would say that these kind of translations worked very well in the english version of Mononoke Hime. But I could be only my opinion, as I already knew the original japanese concept, so i understand what they were talking about. For another point of view, it would have never being as succesful as it was in the West if they kept the original words like Kami and Shinigami.

Oh! I have spotted a minor spelling error! (I don't think it really needs fixing though, it's really minor but just pointing it out for the future ><
Instead of "Maybe I twisted my ankle" I think "I might have twisted my ankle" would sound more sensible. Also, "'cause my buddies said me" should be "My buddies told me"
