EDIT: Wow DA absolutely BUTCHERED the quality of this thing...sorry guys. IDK why it did that...

So as y'all prob know by now given the statuses I've been making over the last few days, ever since getting into X-men with my now ex as of 2020 BF I've fallen down this huge rabbit hole of X-men content and Wolverine feels and that includes nonstop images of how he and Shade would interact, namely bc they are so similar and yet different in certain ways that could totally make them compatible.
and I just
love them. So much.
They would be so dang cute.
I legit lost my mind when I learned how tall he was exactly because Shade frickin towers over him and it's adorable as hell to me.
Their ship name is NightHowl bc that's what you get when you combine their surnames together, and it just turned out way too perfect not to use. It's so appropriately badass and it's great.

can we just
take a moment to appreciate Wolverine's hand there?
That
is highkey the best hand I have ever drawn and I'm still geeking out over it. I struggle so much with hands when drawing people with their arms crossed so this felt like a huge accomplishment.
On the other hand, I will forever be annoyed by the fact that I constantly forget how I highlight hair whenever I get back into drawing digitally PFFT. I always have to figure it out again every time bc sometimes so much time goes on in-between drawings that any techniques I gain while doing other drawings completely leave my mind. It's so inconsistent it's crazy. So yeah...apologies for Shade's crappy hair shines. I'm working on it I swear.
That hand tho? Magnificent.

TBH this drawing probably would've come out differently if I had planned it a little better pfft. I worked with it bc it was too late to change by the time I noticed, but he really does look a tad more grumpy/annoyed/indifferent than I wanted. Def could've portrayed the chemistry a little better lol.
IDK. I think I was just so focused on trying to find a way to draw him in my style that everything else just kinda slipped my mind. (Wasnt even sure which version I was going for tbh. It looks like some sort of frankenstein mesh of the classic cartoon Wolvie and WatXM!Wolvie. For now I'm pleased with it tho, for what it's worth.) It's okay tho. I'll make sure not to forget next time.
