"The power of the mind - I wish I could read your mind" was the concept I chose to look into for my latest Illustration course assignment. It's depicting how the world can be seen through a child's eyes. His innocence and imagination is what's protecting him from the harsh surroundings of reality.
30+ hours in Photoshop 7.

Amazing! I love how you portrayed the duality of the harsh outer reality and the sanctuary of the mind ^^

a nice conception for the imagination (even if that's not what you were going for, that's what i gathered from it)
nice work

Wonderful! I think you've captured this perfectly. Particularly where the bubble meets the outside world. The horizon line is dead-on, I can find no fault in this. A job well done, thankyou for sharing.
A friend of mine has a saying of sorts. "Just wait 'till the weight of the world crushes your shoulders - ahaha!" of course, he doesn't actually say it to them.

I think it's really neat. It is going to be featured in my journal 02/25/08---if that is alright?

I've never seen such a depiction of the power of the human mind. Don't forget though, our perception can work both ways.

Wow! This is quite the spiffing piece. ^^ I love the boy's indifference as he sips from the pitcher--in many ways he could be interpreted as the upper-class/spoiled child. And at the same time you have to envy him for his powers of imagination...so which is it: innocence and idealism or cruelty and indifference? Two sides, same coin. I love the highlights on his little "bubble." Great piece!

It's so symbolic! It's like their in their own world, almost a seperate conciousness than the rest of us, surrounded by death and destruction.
Very powerful. : )

My vivid imagination still separates Me from the real World. As an artist I accept and embrace this but more ''common'' people I see on a daily basis reckon it's a waste of time and a freak of nature. Those fools have nothing more than the rubble of those buildings ( which by the way look really good ). I'd rather stay inside the crystal ball.

A huge number of comments very well deserved.
This scene depicts a scene from my newly started
'Worlds Apart' series, and in the several chapters
I have written for the book/movie/comic strip, I have
a possibility of such a group having protection
only we also have a means of escape. (Fiction unfortunately)
Thank you for sharing your interesting thoughts and
I can clearly envisage that we think alike.
