Description
Happy New Year or Happy End of 2015 if you're still living in the 31st of January! This will be my last piece for the year.... :*)
I started working on a short comic this summer because I gotta start somewhere if I want to tell stories XD Speedpaint will be up hopefully soon but no guarantees since school is starting soon..
This will be a 3-part comic. Second part will be up maybe next spring or summer? XD I didn't work it a lot and I've been having second thoughts about the panels, but it will be a longer read. Either way, this first part can be viewed as standalone if you like an ambiguous 'ending'.
This comic will serve as a sort of introduction or accompaniment piece to a character I am still crafting. I've drawn her here , here and here I really want DA to allow thumbs for non-subs >(

I am here on behalf of with my tag word "Grave" o: so i took the literal meaning and encountered myself with this beautiful (though with hints of sadness) comic
I have to congratulate you from the start on the amazing background work, its indeed beautiful, not only from the lights and shadows, the well used colours but also the perspective. The mood and the vibes each panel gives is pretty impressive and they dont feel out of place at all.
I like the expression you gave the character presented in front of the grave, i would assume its someone who they once cherished and loved, hence her soft yet sad expression giving us a little information about the relationship between this character and the person who passed away.
It's indeed amazing how something so short can at the same time tell us so much and leave us wanting more, wanting to know more about this character, it's life, it's adventures, thoughts, feelings, everything.
The only complain i would have is mostly personal taste of mine, that, even though the difference of detail between the character and the background gives it a sense of "spotlight" or rather, makes us focus more on the character, i would still wish it kept a semi realistic feeling too.
There is such a grade of detail given to the grave, the plants, the sky, the trees yet the character is coloured in a simple way, no difference texture wise between the backpack to the shirt, to the pants or shoes.
Other than that, i think everything is great
But yeah o: ill continue my journey and keep following your works, they are pretty amazing (man, it's so good ive ran out of good words to give you, take my money D: its that great! )

And about who you think the grave belongs to, there is a part 2 and 3 if you want to know the answer, but you can interpret this as a standalone if you prefer. Though you're not too far from the answer
I agree with you about the 'spotlight' part. Looking back on it now, it could look be a bit overdone. I wanted to make that part look a bit more 'dreamy' than the rest but I guess it could have been achieved without the lights shining through so intensely. I think I have an obsession on decorating things a little too much XD
All in all, thanks again for your encouragements and welcome to the journey! I'll definitely be making more story work in the future

Okay, this looks really amazing, oh my gosh-! qAq Asdffd I really love all those detailed backgrounds, the calm and beautiful feel in this and the way you decided to separate the character from their surroundings - using the contrast of lines and the lineless background looks fantastic!
Also, I really love your approach on storytelling

Oh my goodness haha, thank you SO much for the lovely feedback!! I didn't realize how much my artistic decisions had such an impact since some of them were based on reflex and habit XD But I'm so happy to hear that you were able to read into it and enjoy it
As for how this will continue, I can guarantee that there will be only 3 lines of dialogue (if you count the "hey" and the "I'm back" as 2 separate lines) in the entire comic so.... more illustrated panels!!
