Description
Yep. You Cannot scan a ferret. I've been really quiet lately and this little fluffy turdfactory is basically the reason. Maybe not, but I feel like blaming it on her any way.New weasel + Scanner = This mess.
No she's not throwing up or anything she was licking up a treat. That nasty yellow stuff.
And I know the section for this is all wrong and very abused. I'll scrap it as soon as a certain cheesedanish lets me.

I was a little nervous seeing this for the first time, but then was relieved to see everything was safely done. The ferret looks blurred, but alright. XD As long as it wasn't hurt or anything. She doesn't even seem to care, just looking for the food. XDD

Nope, she never even noticed that the 'floor' she was on suddenly lit up beneath her. Though she's older now so I doubt I'd be able to pull it off as quickly.
And I am OBSESSIVELY cautious about my ferrets, they'd never be placed in any danger. (I'm down right annoying when I take them for walks... friends are always... 'Yes, we see the **** dog! Relax we picked the ferrets up!'

You know, I've never thought about scanning a ferret... but now it seems a magical thing indeed.
At first I thought she had sneezed onto the scanner (yellow goop), very entertaining.
Ferrets have more pads on their front feet than I thought, too. >.<
Great job!

Hmmm...I tried scanning my guinea pig once. He sat there making worried expressions and squeaking a little bit. Hahah, but that was 2 years ago xD. I'm getting a ferret for Christmas...perhaps I could try scanning it? Or maybe my 200 pound Chocolate Lab will do I sense a broken scanner in my future.

Anyway, VERY CUTE feet... <3
I want a ferret so bad... Always have, but for some reason, I've recently rekindled my strong feelings towards them...

What kind of other pets do you have?
And there is a lot to consider with getting a ferret as a pet. Firstly, expenses... damn things aren't cheap if you care for them correctly.
Not even including the cost of the ferret to begin with, the vet bills later on can be quite pricey. Many ferrets from pet shops come from huge 'uppymill' like breeding farms... and are highly prone to cancers and difficulties later on in life.
(We had one lovely lady who I miss very much cost us over $2,000 in vet bills alone -not including the checkups- We were fortunate to get help and the money was happily spent. I think the first part of that was a $900 'tummy ache' that she had to go into ICU for! Ouch!)
As well as the cost of food. To feed them right you can't skimp and get low-cost cat/kitten food.
My recommendations are for Totally Ferret, but all kibble has it's drawbacks. So expect much expense as far as food costs go.
These domestic weasels also require a lot of time and work for their care. Despite the fact they live in cages they need a lot of attention... as much that you'd give a dog! To keep them from stinking up the house you'll have to be very diligent in keeping their home and bedding clean.
Just *some* things to think about.
And my best advice? Go out and get 'Ferrets for Dummies' now. The book is great, extremely informative and easy to read.
I read that book a couple times a few years before I got back into ferrets.

I have two dogs and a cat...
Yeah, I did a really quick look around, and did see that many people complained about their expenses. So I guess I now plan to only get one once I'm OUT of college, or at least until I'm settled in a good place and I'm not TOO busy. Considering I really want to be a studio/freelance artist, being home and playing with the critter wouldn't be too hard. And yes, I'd do A LOT of research before I got one, because I've never owned a caged animal before, so that genre would be new to me
Basically, I'll feel it out such that I won't be doing any harm to me or the ferret, I don't want to get one until I KNOW I can handle it... Which may be a while... But honestly, even though I've had cats and dogs my whole life... I don't think that they are necessary the pets for me, and I've played with ferrets before and fallen in love with them... But thanks so much for all the tips... Made is VERY obvious to me that I still have a BUNCH of learning to do... OvO

That is an awesome attitude to have before getting *any* pet! Too many people get pets impulsively, and that usually ends up in hardship for the animal in question. And they also tend to take advice the wrong way and get offended.
With that eagerness to look into it first, I'm sure you'll make a fine ferret-slav--I mean.. owner... when the time comes that you're ready for it!
You might find later on down that road a ferret isn't too far from a dog or cat, yes they do need to stay in cages (unless your house or room is 200% ferretproofed XD!). However they're not at all like typical 'caged pet genre'... or at least not at all like mice and hamsters. So I think your experience will carry over well.
Good luck on that happy day XD
