Description
I realized that I forgot to make a hummingbird for my mom for Christmas, so I decided to compensate by making her a birthday/mother’s day gift (they’re at about the same time) that is more than just the regular pencil drawings I usually do. I decided to do it on pale green construction paper with pencil, chalk pastels, and coloured pencils. I’m pretty happy with the outcome, but there are still quite a few flaws in this little birdy. X( I can never seem to draw these birds quite right. In any case, I think it’s better than last year’s and definitely a lot better than the year before.

I know the colours aren’t very natural. I altered them a from my reference picture so it would look prettier. In the photo, the bird was just brown with an orange belly.
