A commission from ~paweldaruk to design the vtol for his character, also pictured here.This is a crop of the full illustration, as the fans are nothing special to look at. It will logicaly look like the vtol from Avatar, they fulfill the same roles, no need to ge crazy over the resemblance

If you've ever seen gun camera footage from a helicopter gunship, or even just a police or news helicopters footage on the news, that's what you're looking through. It lets the pilot zoom in on things miles away and often have various vision modes and sensors.

I think it looks awesome. Full glass cockpit looks sweet, and I like the "landing-pads" or whatever you would call them that the girl is sitting on.
Artistically very nice painting, the close crop works as well.

Indeed. Twin turbofan VTOLs like Avatar's Dragonfly and Samson are the trends nowadays. GDI Orcas was the product of fictionalizing V-22 tech as early as 1995. ^^
But hey, VTOL trend is a good trend! We, SF fans absolutely dig VTOLs, right? Right? Right?
