Description
Terror from the Deep hit shelves recently, an expansion book to the Contact RPG which as you might guess focuses on marine operations. This is the 4th book to be published for Contact, unfortunately for now they're still only published in German. It's been hinted at a lot but some day there should be an English release, I just have no idea when.
Here's the cover to start things off. I'll be posting some of my favorite pieces over a few days.
Shown are Triton operatives in high tech submersible power armor, about to assault an alien mothership. When things get wet, trade your rocket launcher in for a supercavitating torpedo launcher, sure to ruin someone's day.

I'm afraid that Gooks only come in japanese. But I agree with what you were trying to say. I mean, X-Com the RPG? Hell yes.Β
I don't actually know if it's X-Com related, but I would assume so, going by the name.

Well currently the deep sea diving suits we have are probably the closest thing we have to power armor, though they're not powered yet

well I have seen a few exo-skeletons through various documentaries that may prove promising in the future, but they are still a far-cry from power armor

You know, you rarely a submersible venue of combat outside of submarine-to-submarine combats. And even that itself is rare.

reminds me of Pacific Rim, if Kaijus were aliens instead of mega-huge-ass monsters, and we used probably more cost-friendly soldiers in power armor instead of huge-ass Jaegers to meet the threat.

Sure, if you use a big one and don't attach it to a delivery vector more advanced than "hand grenade". But a nice small tactical-sized one mounted on a stand-off weapon andβthe most important partβused with any sort of intelligence and appreciation for the effect radius, and you won't have problems.
To that end, submarines of the US Navy used to mount SUBROC; a nuclear-armed anti-submarine ballistic rocket with a 30-mile range, while surface ships had ASROC, capable of both carrying a homing torpedo or a nuclear depth charge.
Because the ocean is big. Really big. Not as big as space, but definitely not like walking to the chemist's.
Mitigating factors here:
1. The good guys are using power armor, which if they're capable of operating underwater means they should by their very nature have full NBC protection.
2. It's under water. If it's deep enough water pressure should act to minimize the blast effects and water itself would absorb more rads/rems than air would. Water also doesn't compress, not like air does, anyway, so no shockwave.

Nice work.I like how the suits look.I mean they have to withstand the pressure down there.I like the light Bing effects and that torpedo launcher design.cheers
