just a regular one. but i also left the white spots white and drew around them. that's why they stayed clean.

just drawing around the white spots carefully, and if necessary, adjust them later with the sharp edge of an eraser.
thanx for the comment and the fav

good lord... i love this piece but, i hate to look at it. why you ask? its because you are such an intimidating artist! i hope, one day, i can do a piece that will look HALF as good as this one. i love it. the attention to detail in the skin tones and water effects are to kill for.

I was about to say AMAZING, but then I figured it wouldn't describe it properly... and the more I thought about it, the more I realized, I couldn't find a word suitable for such a masterpiece. Nothing more to say: You left me breathless and speechless, this is the best work I have seen. EVER.

O.o Hot damn. That's awesome. I can't even form words about how amazing that is. Honestly, I didn't think it was possible. I read the description before the picture showed up, and I thought 'oh man, water and that 'wet' look? With pencil? No way!" then I saw the picture and almost died. X.x Beautiful . . .

This is a stunning work of art. The tonal range you've captured here with a single pencil is nothing short of miraculous. And trust me, you pulled the wet look off just perfectly. The only thing that bothers me is the bitty background... I can't help but feel it detracts from what is an amazing central figure. Perhaps a white backgroud would have really made her leap off the page and make those amazing waterdroplets seem truly frozen in a split second. It's only a minor thing, and my own personal opinion though, and this, along with all the others in your gallery, is a superlative work of art.

This piece is just amazing. I really love how the water looks like I could touch it. I just found your page yesterday and I am already a fan. Someday I hope that I can achieve what you have done with your experimenting. You must have true talent to be able to experiment and have it turn out beautifully... when I experiment, it does not look like a masterpiece. There is one part of this piece that is bugging me so I hope that you do not mind me mentioning it; the underside of her right arm (our left) seems to be lacking in detail or something. Unsure of what it really is though... It just seems that there is a black shape that her forearm is floating in front of. I dunno... but overall this piece is amazing and it is going on my favorites.

I feel like an amateur. Here you are experimenting with what you can do with just one pencil, and that's all I've ever used.
I'm a #2 guy all the way, because my local art stores sell art pencils for insane prices. I'm not going to spend $16 on one pencil. I'm sorry, but I go through them way too fast. I'll buy a $1 pack of 24 #2 pencils and printer paper and just deal with it.
As for the piece, it's incredible. I've only recently begun experimenting in realism, and I've found I work best in lighter tones. At darker tones such as this, I lose all ability to blend shading. The depth of the character and fluidity of the motion is incredible. I have a long way to go before I get close to this level of shading, and I'll be damned if I try water in this lifetime.

It is so realistic! it looks like the lead is going to run right off the page at any second. You are the most true artist i've seen in a long time. Especially when it comes to drawing people. I don't know how you do it, but you are so lucky to have the ability.

water is definately hard to capture. like fire, air and stupidity (but that is another story)
you can do almost everything (even with only one pencil) - if you got enough time.
but you really did well.
