Concept drawing showing the combined state of the Orbots. Simplified the lines so that it was more of a general shape diagram, kind of like a status screen on a console display. Should give you a pretty good idea of what the final form will look like.Related content

Well, I have a bit of an unhealthy affection for this show, so it seemed a natural for me to try. Still, I'm always interested in seeing other people's take on the idea; you should give it a shot!

A nice idea! I tossed around having it form a chest crest too, but forming the head gives a cool Jeeg vibe. Go for it.

The story was pretty boilerplate for 80s cartoons. Clear heroes, clear villains, not much gray if you catch my drift, but I've always come back to this show as being tremendously atmospheric, even for being an attempted port of Godmars. Apart from the robot stylings, there are very few similarities. Mighty Orbots doesn't even have a sword!
I guess that's what made me try the redesign; I liked the idea, wanted to spin it a little, and work out some of my own feelings of nostalgia.

I see....What I remembered was that this show has an original theme since the robots have intelligence, compared to other robot-themed show at that time that mainly dealt with piloted robots (those that were aired in my country here back then).

Well, not exactly; the original series usually resorted to energy beams or other attacks to beat the opponent. There wasn't any single weapon that would be the 'episode ender' so to speak. They beat one monster by throwing it in a volcano, dropping an asteroid on said volcano, then leaving before the planet blew up, so...yeah. Swords not necessary.
