This is absolutely amazing. Traditional artwork is not nearly as celebrated on DA as it should be.
Often I find that merely interest artists ever get the attention, but I am delighted to see such a piece selected as a daily deviation.
The technique used in the shading helps to create quite the dynamic sense of proportion and balance, it all meshes together really well. The roughness of the shading is a good combatant against the smooth meduim (watercolor, I think.)
