DescriptionOnce again protesting that you can't use ! in descriptions. I noticed a couple other images like this that describe the history of a Fursona. I remember everyone "omg you're changing shin again" so I decided it'd be cool to see a timeline of his changes. I didn't include concept sketches, I really just wanted to include the OFFICIAL reference sheet updates for him.Related content

I've found with my own lame characters if they don't change they cease to exist after a time.

Shin's 4th birthday will be coming up soon! What a great way to commemorate his evolution. I really like the balance you've come to with the integration of his feathers and fur. I particularly like the natural flow if his ears into the form of his head feathers. He has a very unique look to him and I think he's probably my most favourite creature that you draw. He is so pretty...

I definitely think the most recent Shin is the best, he is not too simple, but not to complicated, and I can definitely see the mixture of old and new worked into him. C:
Just out of curiosity, how do you actually pronounce Shinerai? Because I'm fairly certain I'm pronouncing it wrong in my head...

it's interesting to see the history behind your sona and the development you went through. its really amazing how much you improved. especially from feb 2006 to august 2006! although the other shins were beautiful, the newest shin is definately my favourite (: it looks most refined and complete.

Iono if its just me, but everytime i look at the final version of Shinerai I think "He looks like he's ready to run". Maybe it's his skinny-ness, but it reminds me of a roadrunner XD I really like Shin's tail from August 06, it reminds me of salamanders or something

the problem with that is ive completley re designed my sona alot, its changed shape and name the only one that hasnt is my therian form the wolf and she hasnt changed at all xD

But, I'd have to say, the current reference is the one I like the best. The dark reds with vibrant oranges, to me, really suit him. 8D

I have to say his latest design is my favorite, all in all. If I can remember his background at all, it fits him well, lithe and lean looking. I can go on and on about what everyone else has said already, so I won't. I love the evolution and how it all culminated to his latest design and character development. -salutes-

I'm also one of the rare few who read descriptions on both dA and YouTube all the time, maybe that's what's wrong with meh. D: I like to know how things work and why~

I really do like All of the Shin! designs, but I'm glad that you decided to get back to the roots of who he used to be. I REALLY like the original Shin markings. :] (And also how you colored outside of the lines and then were cleaning it up and then said 'fuck it, i'm done.' ha! xD
