Description
This really happened. In my defense, we were ALL bantering back and forth with the waiter that night and I wasn't being mean-spirited, just joking around with him.
I think I won that night.
(And for the curious, because I know it'll be asked... yes, I do use a wheelchair and cane both depending on the situation/day. My cane's name is Kaywinnit

Either your friend in the middle is rather use to you like this, or there has to be something really interesting in that menu...

ohhh I should name my wheelchair! I was curious so I was reading through your comments and saw you had Fibromyalgia I have CFS. I dont know if youve heard of it but its similar to fibromyalgia, though CFS had more of the fatigue and less of the pain... though I do have chroic pain as well im just not as sensitive to touch and stuff.

A friend of mine's dad has to use a wheelchair. Eventually the dad's wheelchair got worn out and he got a new one, which led to the question of what to do with the old broken-down one ...
... so the dad left it parked in a handicapped parking spot at a shopping mall.

*giggles madly* Totally Adoring that you named your cane after Kaylee. That is the most awesome thing I've heard in the past month.
The best waiters are the ones you can joke around with. Sounds like he was good and amusing.

OMG^^ NICE!!! i used to have to walk with a cane because of my juvenile arthritis in my ankles and knees. It was always so funny cuz ppl would be like (at Halloween) "PFFFFT!!!! CAT-GIRL DOESN'T HAVE A CANE!!!!!!" and i'd be like "I need it to get around because i have problems walking..." and they'd either start laughing or apologize. If they'd apologize, I'd say it was ok and just leave. BUUUUUT... If they'd laugh or say i was dumb for "kidding", i'd throw it at them and once they grabbed it, i'd pretend to fall. (even if they HAD grabbed it, i still could've stood for a few minutes) and yell that they were hurting me. My mom thought it was funny, but my pals said i was evil. I don't really care, they teased me. They were evil enough to pick on a kid with a cane, they DESERVED a little torture... XD

lol my dad does that (he is blind) one time we went to a resterunt and when the waitress came by he asked if he was at MarieCalenders or Ridgeways. The woman looked so confused (cause he doesn't wear any glasses) she said where we were and he made his order.
She came back later apologizing realizing that he was blind and feeling quite embarrassed.
He also did it to a nurse who was checking his eyes after he got blind, and she asked if she could see what she was doing, he figured she was doing the two fingers thing, so he said she was holding up two fingers, and she got all excited thinking he got his site back, and he laughed saying nah he just guessed. Poor girl ^^

Yes, we handicapped can be evil like that. Reminds me of when I got asked by a store clerk why I needed a cane . . . can't repeat the answer I gave her, but the look on her face was just as good as that waiter's reply.
Great comic, Shing-shing! Thanks for sharing!

You know, if I was anywhere near you as you said that, I'd probably burst out laughing. I'm sorry, but, like, the way you portrayed it here, seems like something I'd gigglesnort at. But hey, I do giggle when the lady that works in the fish section of the pet store has to put down a fishy because it's eyes are falling out. She put it in a bag and whacked it off a counter. It made a crunch sound.

Kaywinnit. That's a wicked name. Has your wheelchair got an equally spiffy name? And is your cane actually a cool pattern like that?
