Backstory:
There's a new Gargoyles comic out. Which is AWESOME, and I fully intend to buy it when I can finally get my fat ass to a comic book store. But there's been some not-so-great remarks about the artwork in the comic. The colors, IMO, are fine and well done enough, but could be better. The anatomy, however? Definitely... DEFINITELY could be better. And the characters just don't LOOK right. And Elisa Maza has some very nice flotation devices stuffed inside her shirt.
Well apparently at the Gathering of 2006 (which I did not attend), Greg mentioned that the artwork was good. Exact wording I'm unsure of. Which led to people wondering what Greg was smoking. Which led to mention of my Demona comic. Which led to THIS.
And no, I cannot draw Greg to save my life.
And I have no idea who the Extra is.
Greg, if you see this... remember it's all in good fun, I'm sure you weren't smoking anything, I can't draw you, and we all love you.

I met him, he isn't so bad, but he does have a few things about him that do rub me a bit the wrong way. He doesn't like the idea of Elisa being a gargoyle for one, he wanted a beauty and the beast, but hated the idea of either the beast being human or beauty becoming a beast.

Why not? He's a nice guy. He has one of the most open relationships with fandom that I've seen of any creator.

How so? If you mean executive meddling was done to his shows, this is true. But that's no reason to not like him... it's a good reason to dislike those executives, though.

You really have no idea how television works, do you? He was involved deeply with every aspect of the production, and did work on every script... he was the showrunner. TV is not like comic books, you moron.

Yeah, i felt mixed about it, and as for Elisa, i can see her with the "flotation devices" as you put it, but ONLY if she was a Gargoyle. And it makes mw wish she was still one after the Mirror.

LOL! i have the first too comics, the art takes some getting used to but its not so bad, look forward to collecting the rest of the books. Where can I view your Demona comic? (i admit Goliath looks more stone faced than usual and Hudson's a bit off color, green)

I'm ok with the artwork in the comics. It's jiggy. I'm more tickled pink Weisman licensed the rights from Disney. Yay! more canon fodder!

I wasn't aware it was a comic outside of Disney Adventures. And the only real problem with 'Chronicles', imo, was a bad case of 'Marvelitis'. Tragically, it was a fatal case....

Good point here,
The only good thing about the art is its very shiny and shaded and thats about it.
When I saw Elisa's floation devises I thought they where where pointy cantilopes.
And from what I've seen all the gargoyles look like deformed imps in some way shape or from, Goliath seems to be the only one with some of his original Goliath-ness.
And thats all I have to say about that.

THANK YOU! You are one of the few people who agree with me! I'm glad that Greg's doing another series of stories for Gargoyles, but the art is driving me nuts! In the second issue, they make Alex look like a deformed little imp! I mean you're right, a ton of the fan artists i see on here could do MUCH better. I wish I was one of them... ^_^

When I saw the samples for the comic I was bummed for the longest time and determined it just sucked though once I got it the art wasn't all that bad. *knods* It was mainly the pages they'd shown, lol. Though I still think it could have been better so yeah... great comic. I like how all your people on drugs go 'eh keke'

I have to ask to do you or anybody else have a link to a sample of the new artwork?... and on a random note, you'd think if it is that bad they'd go looking at some of the great gargoyle artists around on the web and ask them. I'm sure a number of them might jump/kill for the job.
