OBJECTIVE V- Forbidden Forest
Vasska| King

Vasska stamped his hooves in the dirt. The shadows of the forbidden forest towering over him and the horses around him. No horse he knew had dared to step foot in their dark depths as it was known that cougars, and even quiver-backs might live in there. The thought was terrifying - and with how things were going now he couldn't be more scared for himself and his herd. They had arrived at the scene only 24 hours prior, looking for supplies - something they could use to one up the Bachelors when the next battle came. What they had found instead was a disaster. The forbidden forest had always been terrifying, but it had grown into a monster. Stray vines seemed to crawl wherever there was room, bright red and purple flowers growing off their sickly green tendrils. They pulsed with the dark spirit of the forest. Vasska was sure that this was the unicorns meant to curse them - upset that they had fought along exiles, angered that they had not defeated the bachelors - outraged that the Olde herd had crossed a land bridge for a reason other than life or death. He peered into the darkness of the wood cautiously, wondering what it was they might find if they entered its domain.

"Eden!" he called, looking at the young but talented Healer mage, "Tem!" he called knowing, that for one reason or another the little horse was always around. "Could you two gather everyone else... I feel we should start our investigation soon or we risk these vines growing over any path that we might make into the forest." He shook a stray petal off his nose, his tail swishing back and forth anxiously in the growing dark of the afternoon. The king sighed. The night was going to be a long one.

Eden| Healer Mage

"Yep. Unicorns hate us." Eden muttered under his breath. The buckskin stood regarding the coiling plant life, pulsating with a dark, sickly magic. Normal magic alone made him twitchy; he didn't like the idea that there were horses out there that could burn a guy's face off just by thinking about it. The dark and sickly variety was probably worse, and that put it high on his list of things he'd like to avoid, right between cougars and Eiru.

Just as he was beginning to wonder if it was too late to feign a sore hoof, Vasska had called his name in that sharp, scary voice of his. Eden snapped to attention and turned a seafoam gaze towards his king, all thoughts of bailing extinguished. "Alright -- yes sire." He corrected, and spun to face the rest of their team. His eyes landed on Ciel first, because he sort-of-kind-of knew the miniature healer and despite his stature, he was rather hard to miss. Eden suspected it was the talking. Ciel did a lot of talking. So much talking.

"Ceil, get over here." He called, stomping a streaked hoof for emphasis. "Time to hit the trail. And you too, uh... Tamarie?" He squinted as his gaze shifted to Tamera, who he thought might be a knight or maybe a defender mage. He wasn't entirely sure, but she looked like she could beat him in a fight, and that was all that really mattered where the healer was concerned. Mental note: do not mouth off to Tamarie. "You too, come over here. Ma'am."

Tamera|Knight

"We are actually here...huh I would think it had look even more disturbing then it was before just great." Tamera mumbled to herself as she was a bit distant from the team, often the mare would always be near Vasska but due to last time she hasn't really fully recovered. The plants life were all to either grown to different sizes while some vines start to flicker as if it has a life of its own. Upon the speculation of Vasska thinking that this was the sign that the Unicorn was cursing the herd was an interesting theory. Its not as if she doesn't believe it, its just it would just be more problematic if their are Unicorns, who knows how they are like when they see the team if they stumbled upon them in the forest.

Tamera herd Vasska voice which caused her to snapped out of her train of thought, upon hearing clearly he wasn't calling her he was calling for Tem and Eden instead. As the mare was about to walk a further ways opposite of the team she heard Eden's voice speaking towards her. "Coming, I 'll be right ov-" At first she replied nonchalantly until a cord strike with her. "DID YOU JUST CALL ME TAMARIE?" She asked , well more like she yelled at the stallion in a surprised manner that would defiantly be mistaken for anger. She never heard someone else called her Tamarie before they nick named her Tam yeah but never something so odd as this name? She blinked at him a few times, not begin angry just more confused then anything else. "Eden, my name is Tamaera not Tamarie...you can call me Tam for short if its to long." She mumbled the last part as she didn't make eye contact with the stallion.
Did those scary plants move? Tem stood transfixed, looking at the ghastly looking plantlife and their otherworldly colours. He'd never seen anything like them - not that he'd spent much time looking at plants, but still! - and there was something ominous about them. They made his skin shiver and his ears flatten. Nothing good would come of this, he was sure.

Tem|Healer Mage

"Tem," a familiar voice called. The small stallion turned immediately. Oh, but his king was talking to him! What had he been thinking, wasting time pondering murderous, venomous-looking plants and their potential for danger? Tem grinned, ears perking as Vasska continued. "Could you two gather everyone else... I feel we should start our investigation soon or we risk these vines growing over any path that we might make into the forest."

"Of course, sir!" he squeaked, turning around immediately in search of his new companions. Some of them he didn't know very well, but he certainly knew Ciel and had heard of Tamera before. Had they talked? Maybe they had. She certainly wasn't a mare to miss. He paused, looking at the empty grass in front of him. Right, he'd turned the wrong way. Sheepishly, he moved back the way he'd been facing earlier and meant to speak out - in a grand, booming, impressive voice, of course - when he was interrupted.

"Ceil, get over here. Time to hit the trail. And you too, uh... Tamarie? You too, come over here. Ma'am."

Tem frowned. Wait, he was going to call out names and take charge. He was great at taking charge. Okay, the last time he'd taken charge he'd ended up leading his fellow foals into a bog, but that had been years ago and he'd grown. Maybe not much in stature, but certainly in maturity!

"What..." he started, "What he said! I firmly stand behind his decision to, ehm, gather. Ourselves. Near the king. Which is...the impressive grey...stallion. Over there."

He glanced at Vasska awkwardly, then flicked his tail. Okay, he hadn't been very helpful there. He would impress all of them later, though! He'd do great. At something.

"Wait." Tem looked around. "This isn't all of us, right? I mean, I often overlook Ciel so it's understandable to occasionally miss someone, but wasn't there someone else? Something to do with...odd? Odd one? Odit? Oh, this is awkward..."

"We are actually here...huh I would think it had look even more disturbing then it was before."

Tem nodded firmly. "At least they'll probably grab you tall folk first. Maybe Ciel and I can squeeze through."

The bay stallion's eyes widened. "Not that I'd ever leave you, sire!" he hastened to add. "I'd defend you valiantly from whatever threat nature threw at me. I am a skillful warrior when it comes to weeds!"

Odette|Follower

"This...was not what I was expecting..." Odette thought, verging on the edge of hopelessly as she stared in shock at the sight before her. It was bad enough that they were all standing on the edge of the forbidden forest, which wasn't called 'forbidden' just because it sounded cool, but there was something most definitely wrong here. The red mare felt a shudder run down her spine at the sight of those vines, moving and slithering; it was honestly disturbing. When Vasska spoke she turned her head to look at him -- anything to force her eyes away from the forest before her.

When names were called she hung back, part of her hoping she'd be forgotten and she could avoid getting any closer to whatever gross things the unicorns had done to the forest to punish them. She quite nearly let out a groan when the short stallion seemed to remember she was there and called her over...well, sort of called her over; if someone wanted to count his pathetic attempts at remembering her name --and then butchering it so terribly she considered not even dignifying it with a response-- as calling her over. She contented herself with sighing and rolling her eyes as she walked forward, hissing "My name is Odette!" as she passed by him. She ended up standing next to the other mare, Tamera as she had found out a few moments previous, as at the current point in time Tamera was probably the only horse here that she might not end up wanting to kick. "I don't suppose we have a plan?" She asked after a moment, glancing around at the other's who had gathered; her gaze landing on Eden as it seemed the other had decided to take charge.

Ciel eyed the other equines in his vicinity, carefully picking out which ones he -should- act couth towards. But, as long as he was in such an environment, that wasn't going to happen. He continued scanning the crowd until his sky-blue optics landed upon a vaguely familiar figure- he'd seen all the others around the herd, of course, but this one gave him nostalgic stirring that he felt quite uncomfortable harboring. He stole quick glances at Tem, still trying to figure this puzzling and distant memory, but gave up after a few seconds to focus on the task at hand.

"Ceil, get over here. Time to hit the trail. And you too, uh... Tamarie? You too, come over here. Ma'am."

Not even holding back the drawn-out, weary sigh he felt building up in his throat, he dragged his hooves against the pristine grass. The pony stallion strained his neck even farther vertically in order to view the peak of the Forbidden Forest. The name echoed around his skull, spurring thoughts on what he -can't- do if something decides to try and eat him- and that was fight. At least, he thought, I've go' myself some meat shields. Upon reaching his normal head-holding height his nose met with a bright red flower, inducing a rather large load of saliva. After taking a delectable whiff of the strange phenomenon, he chuckled mentally to himself- I think -I'll- be the one doin' all the eatin' 'ere. Without pondering it further, he took a large mouthful and swallowed it as fast as he could to avoid getting caught. After all, Vasska probably didn't want the others eating them because they held some sort of strange power. Right?

"At least they'll probably grab you tall folk first. Maybe Ciel and I can squeeze through."

The pony stallion spun round to the speaker. He felt a bit more daring than usual knowing that there was someone also dubbed 'small' in this rag-tag of a group. He tried his best to keep uncharacteristically quiet throughout the ordeal's beginning, although that was sure to fade soon. His stubby legs trotted over to Tem's side as he nodded energetically, blowing a forelock out of his eye as all his life was returned to him. He locked eyes with a seemingly expressionless Vasska, awaiting his approval.
"Let's ge' on with it, then, before I change my mind-" he called to the King. He broke the eye contact quickly, though, and muttered under his breath, "-an' herd."
