This apparently won 3rd place--I'm very
right now. Thank you to everyone who entered and voted!~~~~~~
So yeah, this was a lot of work but so worth it! Title sucks XD! Anyways this was done for the Villains Gone Good Contest [link] The deadline was extended even more so I added the two more characters in the drawing. How fun is that theme?
At first I just had the boy and Mozenrath but then the thought it would be fun to added the two girls in with the left over time that I had. I did Mirage 'cuz obviously I like her and 'cuz I've always felt that these two villains would make a great team if they could actually find a way to work together instead of probably hindering each other. Well, that and for some reason I've always linked them together--almost if they are related in some way.
The kids started out as Al's and Jasmine's 'cuz I thought that would be the best way to show how much the two heroes trust and believe that the two villains have changed for the good. And the former villain's reactions to the kids is obvious enjoyment XD!
As I started working on this, the idea of the kids shifted in my head and they felt more like Al and Jasmine themselves XD! Either they were somehow turned into children without their adult memories or the former bad guys somehow found themselves flung into the past (the fun things my mind comes up with XD). So I thought it would be fun for Mozenrath to tell Al his own story 'cuz he wouldn't be able to remember it in his child form with only a child's mind.
Ignore the backgound (as always)! I was going to have the pillars that are in Agraba's palace but then I would have wanted to show the buildings and sky beyond the window which would have been too much for me at the moment XD!
I had a lot of fun doing this! So Enjoy it everyone!

I would say turned into kids because if it were the past, no way in hell would Aladdin be allowed into the palace.

You are so right! Jas and Al being turned into kids would make more sense in this drawing. I'm sure they would get into a lot of trouble together--probably more then when they were adults.

Know what this could also be? A mirror world of Aladdin where Mozenwrath is the main protagonist and Aladdin is his evil counter part. I thought of that really quickly and so it's not that good of an idea XD

Thanks! In my drawings I usually leave the design of clothing until the end as I'm more concerned with the character's body language, and facial expression. So I'm really glad to hear Mirage looks good in her new outfit XD!

Titles are some of the hardest parts of a piece of art. I once had to spend three hours with someone, narrowing down possible titles for a book. It's hard, but when you get it right, you uusually love it, and it's so worth it. I'd really love if you could put up some more pics, btw!

Awww cute. ^_^ I never watched this show as much as I should have so I don't think I saw more than one episode with Mirage in it but I've always liked her b/c I had friends who liked her a bunch and did a lot of fanart. *lol* Such a cute idea for a picture, nicely done. ^_^

Thanks a lot! Well, at least you know of it and some of the characters. Surprisingly Aladdin was one series that I watched almost every episode XD! Some episodes are on Youtube if you really want to watch them. They really should get the Aladdin series put on dvd. I always loved story time as a kid so I thought that it would be great to have Mozenrath use his magic to help tell the story.

Really, it's not out on DVD? I thought it was. My daughter's really big on Aladdin so I was going to try to rent some of it for her. Oh well. I guess they only have the movies available.

I've heard that Aladdin is on DVD but I don't think that it is a licensed Disney product. I know that there are some of the episodes from the Aladdin series in a few of the Princess Stories DVD's but I would check the reviews on those before buying any. If your daughter really wants to see some of it then watch them with her on Youtube XD! That's what I've been doing with my niece since she likes Beetlejuice but the cartoon was never put on DVD either so I found them on Youtube and we watch them together.

Yeah, Youtube is kind of a blessing for that sort of thing, but also you have to watch out.. I've had "suggestions" come up from something we were watching that were entirely inappropriate but she's been like "I want that one now!" She's only 5 and trying to explain why a video that *looks* like it's got Kermit the Frog in it is not right for her can be tricky.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean about the videos on the side that come up. My neice is 4 and I didn't want her to see the on video on the side so I skipped it. But she had seen it already and really wanted to watch it. I tried to turn her attention to something else but it didn't work so I caved and went back to look for it. The video didn't have anything bad in it fortunately, it was a slide show of Beetlejuice fanart. As a result I was asked many, many questions XD! And now she knows what fanart is-also she learned about Beetlejuice x Lydia...oops.
Yeah, the Princess line DVD's seem to be pretty weak and they have sometimes just thrown episodes from the different cartoon TV series in there if it happens to feature a Princess.

Yup, he's kind of a girly-man XD! Its the hair...and his eyes...and his lips. Out of all the stories that Uncle Mozenrath tells them I bet Aladdin's tale is probably one of their favorites.

Yes, I love showing some kind of interaction in my drawings so they almost seem as if they are just a small part of a bigger story. I was actually wondering if I hadn't gone far enough with Mirage's expression XD! I'll be working on some drawings that will be related to this one soon.

Great idea, either way (whether it would be Al and Jas' children or Al and Jas themselves as children).
Did you have Mozenrath give up his glove? (Wasn't that actually the source of his magic?)

Well, I figure that if Mozenrath truly went "good" then Aladdin and his friends would have tried to find a solution to his glove. I think they would have ended up finding a way to change the glove that would still let Mozenrath use it as he did before. So the color has changed on his glove and there is a little symbol on it to signify that (its a bit hard to see but its at the point near his elbow).
Also its on his other hand as I think they would also be able to help somewhat with his deteriorated right arm, if only a little bit, so that arm is recovering and resting from channeling the old glove's magic. I have put way too much thought into the story of this drawing XD!
