"Wow, so you were able to make Secret Power a grass type attack at will? That's amazing!"
Cora didn't tell Sparky that she was able to evolve into Leafeon and then back into an Eevee by using that attack. Instead, she focused on how she was able to make it a grass type attack by absorbing the vegetation.
"Yeah, but it's not as hard as it sounds, you-"
"We're here!" Ethan exclaimed.
Sure enough, they were approaching a building that seemed to stand out from the others. Maybe it was because it looked taller, more civil compared to the modest structures surrounding it. Or maybe it was because of the two buff guards securing the entrance. They let Ethan through, but one of them gave Cora a stare that sent chills through her bones. This place seemed so unwelcome, so unfriendly. Sparky caught Cora trembling.
"Don't worry" He whispered. "We're going to be fine."
Cora wasn't so sure. Everything in there made her want to jump off Ethan's shoulder and bolt out the door, from the unnaturally cool temperature to the woman carefully watching them from the front desk.
"Can I help you?" She asked. Her voice seemed a little irritated, like she didn't want us wasting her time.
"Yes" Ethan said "I'd like to report a robbery"

"Sparky, use thundershock!" Ethan shouted.
Sparky's channeled the electricity from his pouches and let it course through his body. Targeting the Pidgey they had encountered, he let loose a fast, small spark of lightning. The shock didn't seem very impressive, but the little brown bird was left with serious damage coursing through its body. It couldn't stay airborne, and plummeted to the ground.
"Perfect! Now let's catch our first Pokémon! Go, Poke ball!" The trainer threw a small, red and white ball at the bird. As it covered distance, it grew little by little until it was about the size of a fist. The Pidgey tried to get up, but was left paralyzed by Sparky's attack. The trainer's first attempt at capturing a Pokémon was going perfect, that is, until a large Pidgeotto suddenly swooped in front of the Pidgey and blocked the ball…
"PIDGEOTTO!!!" The Pokémon looked furious. Sparky translated its cry into;
"I AM GOING TO RIP YOUR GUTS OUT AND FEED THEM TO THE POOCHIANAS FOR HURTING MY BABY!"
Yep, they were screwed.
"Run, Sparky, run!" Ethan shouted as the two sprinted into the undergrowth, with a ticked of mother Pidgeotto giving chase close by. The two had lost all sense and were running madly in every direction, trying to avoid the sharp claws of the large bird. The Pidgeotto gave up rather quickly, for its precious young was still injured back at the clearing where the battle had taken place. Still, they had run rapidly around the forest and were probably about half a mile away from the trail they'd been following.
"Uh *pant*, Ethan? I think we're*pant* lost…" Sparky said.
"Don't *pant* worry; I have some berries you can eat, but *pant*, I think we've *pant* lost the path."
They stood in silence for a while to try and catch their breath.
"Sparky, do you think you could smell out the nearest village?" Ethan suddenly asked.
"...I can give it a try" Sparky tried to sort out the smells that lie before him. Grass, berries, bushes, somewhere far to the west there was the smell of flowers and saltwater, but the sun was setting and they would have to travel in the dark… but wait, there was something among those scents, something very faint…
"Smoke! I found a New Bark town, Ethan!" For once the Sparky's trainer seemed to understand him.
"Lead the way, my friend."

"So you two were wandering out on route 29 while the sun was already starting to set?" The woman asked suspiciously.
"Yes, but only because Professor Elm asked me to retrieve something from Mr. Pokémon. He told me that it was urgent." Ethan explained.
"I'll need him to confirm that" She said. The woman told a young blonde man to call Professor Elm and tell him that Ethan was at the New Bark Police Station.
"Now, by all means, continue"

Past

Something wasn't right… the smell of smoke was getting stronger and stronger the deeper Sparky and Ethan walked into the forest. The closest town was probably miles away, yet, still, they followed the scent in hopes of maybe finding a traveller who knew where new bark town was. Then they heard the screeches. The screeches of many, many Pokémon in serious pain. Ethan and Sparky looked at each other for a second, and then both ran straight to where the cries were coming from.
