Shine: (voiceover) My name is Shinica; Shine for short, and I was a little steam shunter, working on the Ljós Railway in Iceland. It was a modest railway; my beautiful girlfriend, Ariel and I were the only engines at the time, running backwards and forwards from a large harbor at one end and the main terminus at the other. We enjoyed our work, but at the same time, it got rather lonely being the only two running the line. Often times, I had to keep Ariel in check if her ego got the better of her. Other times, she had to do the same to me. Unfortunately, hard times befell us. The increase in road vehicles meant fewer goods and passengers for her and I. We both had either 3 or 4 trucks or coaches behind us. We tried to keep up with the competition from road traffic, but it didn't go well. I thought this was the end for me and my beloved Ariel. We were ready for the end, but as it turns out, fate had something different in mind for us.
