I'm not putting this into mecha designers cause i think its more just a helmet than a mecha thing.if people really want it in there then it can go...

This is fantastic.
Could I use this for a 3d modeling reference?

hey thats really neat looking
these helmet designs remind me of the oldschool JIJOE toys
theres one suggestion! you could give the glossy reflection a different shape. a more organic one or maybe a 3spot kind of shape. also you could add some slight reflections of a fake environment onto the visor as well. this adds a lot realism!
here are some extreme examples.

i think the football helmet would be the closest to what'd i'd prolly go for in that situation... so much more to learn
and yeah i kept the surfaces rather simple... i guess thats just me all over. i have trouble creating stuff with complicated surfaces so i just simplify it.
i now kinda wonder whether i should go back and paint the empty helmet inside and then bring the visor over the top to show some inner detail... what do ya think?
