Heh, after seeing all of these "ask" blogs all over the place I couldn't help but notice that there wasn't a single active one for Dash....Had to fix that!

Dude, I can't believe you quoted the bible here. This just made my day. Yes, I know I'm almost a year late to this party but I still had to add this. You are aware that this show is focused around magic? And the bible views any sort of "magic" as witchcraft and therefore is condemned? Homosexuality isn't a bad thing just because a work of fiction tells us it is.

Sorry for the inconvenience... yes, that was almost a whole year ago. I've changed my views so much since then. Using the bible as an argument against homosexuality is indeed pretty damn hypocritical (people who use it to justify hating homosexuals are forgetting that they are no less corrupt).
I'm young and still learning how the world works. I've disabused myself from a lot of the inconsistancies of my beliefs since the time I made that comment. So... we cool?

Actually, your comment made me happy to be a human. It is said that people can't change their views on things but you have disproved that here and now and for that, I applaud you. No. That would mean i'm a lesbian, and I most certainly am not. A girl can be a tomboy and prominently display rainbows WITHOUT being a lesbian. She's meant to endear to those girls, with the belief that it's okay to not be girly. It's okay to be confident and excell to the ranks of the other boys.
But what does everyone do? Ruin that message with fictional homosexuality.
Mind you, i'm not against homosexuality. I just hate seeing characters suffer under it like this. For fuck's sake, it's a KID'S show. None of the characters are going to be gay, anyway.

Well, Rarity did try to woo Prince Blueblood into marrying her, so love and marriage does exist. But overall, yes. I'd say Lauren Faust wants to portray a platonic world to us.

Then again, if you REALLY look into the subject, I also doubt that every creature in Equestria is asexual. I guess you could see it more as a concept that is true in the setting, but only ever discussed from an adult standpoint.
Lauren never really expected the fan base to consist of as many adults as children, I'm sure.
Pony sexuality is a "behind the scenes" kind of thing! Perfectly applicable to fan-creations from the mature viewers I suppose. Well, at least until you get into pony-pornography. That shit freaks me right the fuck out! O___o

Awww, poor Dashie. I see both sides of the coin, really. On one hand, there are a lot of straight tomboys out there who are assumed to be lesbians just because they're boyish. They want to identify with Rainbow Dash, because she's awesome, but all the "Rainbow Dash is a lesbian!" stuff turns them away.
On the other hand, are the tomboys who actually ARE lesbians. And we like to identify with Rainbow Dash, too. The rainbows certainly help the interpretation. Let's face it, when I went to the local pride parade last month, I kept thinking that the Rainbow Dash cosplay I was working on would fit in perfectly.
So I think the safest bet would be to say that she's bi.
....Or, you know, to just not say anything at all about her sexuality like the show is already doing, and letting fans make up their own minds. *shrugs*
Either way, this fanart is cute. I'm sure she gets that question a lot, which can be annoying no matter WHAT the answer is.

I can't disagree. I just can't stand shipping ponies since I've read a fanfic that disgusted me so much, that I'll never read again such a story. And I liked that kind of story before that. Picture shipping ok, but story NO! Especially that most of them involves my favourite Rainbow Dash. In my imagination she isn't a lesbian. Just avoid shipping stories, and I'll be okay.

You've hit perfecly. That story which disgust me so much was Silent Ponyville 2. First one, with Pinkie Pie alone in her dream was awesome grimdark story. I've decided to read second story because grimdark+shipping attracted me. But it's ending made me sick! I think you know what I mean. And that's why I hate shipping stories now.
